a hot cup of Earl Grey tea, a fresh baked blueberry muffin and the song of Mocking birds. What a wonderful way to start the day. The roses are climbing the porch railings and the scent is heavenly. I see the Rogers' have rolled their hay. I'm glad it stopped raining long enough for them to cut it. There goes Mz Mary on her way to the hospital to see about JW. That woman carries her burdens with such grace. The girls and I can double our spaghetti recipe and carry over enough for her, Donnie and Jeff for dinner tonight. Today is the 15th of June. If all goes well, and I am trusting it will, Rob will be home from Iraq in exactly one month. I am so proud of him and have missed him so much. Not only proud of him but all those precious men and women who serve our country at the risk of their own lives. A salamander just scooted up the brick wall and is hiding under the shutter. Makes me think of all the "pets" the kids and I have given homes to over the years. Baby bunnies made motherless by construction, baby squirrels left helpless when their treehome was cut down, a chipmunk we had to leave behind with friends when our tour of duty in Japan was ended, the iguana Rob called Elvis, a baby bluejay that adopted me and followed me around like a puppy. My absolute favorite though was Okami. That's Japanese for wolf....and Okami looked like a white wolf with bright blue eyes. She was a Malamute/Siberian Huskey mix with the personality of Adam Sandler. When she outgrew my space at the time I gave her to a rancher so she could run free. She took a piece of my heart with her. Well, enough rambling on for now. You are so kind to listen to the heart songs of an old woman. There's housework to be done, and errands to run. Blessings on you and yours, and hurry on back to see me.

So good of you to drop by. Pull up that other rocker and visit a while. I've just been sitting here watching the birds at the feeders. Noticed that I need to refill the one for hummingbirds. They sure do eat a lot to be so small. I'm tickled to see so many purple martins. They keep the mosquito population down you know. I've got some fresh cold lemonade and cookies warm from the oven. Let's enjoy them before the grands get here and there are none left. We'll save them just a few. Well thank you! I'm glad you liked the cookies. Sure I'lll share the recipe with you. NONNIE'S CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE COOKIE RECIPE Soften a stick/or 8 tablespoons of butter and then beat a half cup of firmly packed dark brown sugar, a half cup of granulated sugar, a teaspoon of vanilla and a pinch of salt into it. When it is light and fluffy add a third of a cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, one large egg and a smidgen of baking powder and beat it real good again. Next stir in one cup of all-purpose flour and 2 cups of chopped white chocolate. You need to chill the dough. I leave mine in the fridge overnight. When you aready to bake them preheat your oven to 325 and grease some baking sheets. Scoop up the dough by heaping tablespoonfuls and roll it into balls. Put them on the baking sheet with lots of room between them 'cause they are going to spread. If you like them chewy bake for 12 minutes. For crispy cookies bake for 14 minutes. You can store them in Tupperware/type containers if you have any leftover. When I bake these they disappear almost instantly if the grandkids are around. lol Well I hate you have to go so soon but sure did enjoy you coming by. Here, take some of these cookies with you to hold you till you have time to bake some. I'll see you in church Sunday. Tell everybody over your way I said Hi. Hurry back now, You hear?
