A month-long cross-country road trip in a VW bug convinced me and my long-time sweetie we could make it as marrieds. We were right.

Interesting - I always considered being on the road a test of a relationship. If you can survive being isolated in a vehicle for a while you have a good one.

I've always said that if you're considering a long term relationship, take a road trip of at least a week with that person!!

I actually almost chose Road Trips cos it worked in my situation. But I hesitated because it didn't specify that it should be the couple, and absolutely no one else. (I found trips where I brought my son along didn't result in the same relational boost.)

Hi AneMac,

It cannot be road trips. How can it be? She would tell me to watch out for this and watch out for that, when to brake, that she does not like it because it's too hot when I want to have a photo break, she does not like this and that ... Aargh. Road trips are sure to spoil a relationship unless ....... you can accept all that.
