Why is it when you say looking for friendship, men run... are all the men only on dating sites for sex and nothing else. My experience has been anyone that has contacted me is only interested in nsa sex.

It seams that way, doesn't it...A couple of months ago this guy from sff told me after a pic-nic in the park: "we might as well sleep together, we don't know how much time we have left" talking about romance!!!!

Thats very sad. I havnt had that problem myself, but thats because im too far away to date anyone. However, i do write to some nice men, at their request. We know we will never meet, but the conversation is very pleasant. Not offensive nor even flirty. Hope you find some nicer friends soon.

Whatever happened to keeping things on a friendly level? It's tricky sometimes but I think doable.

I think its possible to have a type of "penpal" friendship here. I dont live close to anyone in US but I have met my love in Ireland. karin, you had a lucky escape, and in the park too!!!!

I've talked to both, at first. Generally speaking, they all get around to it, sooner or later. If they're too distant, they'll settle for cyber, or phone sex.
I'm not into either one. If it's not real, with someone real, who makes commitment real, they can take a hike,on that issue, for real.
I think, to the average man, intercourse with anyone willing, is more important than friendship. Sometimes it's more important than marriage vows, family, position, career, or danger. Maybe it's the danger that draws their excitement.
Look at the dalliances of presidents, governors, priests, ministers and many others in the public eye. The average man is no better, regardless of race, religion, or economic standing, and I don't think it has anything to do with role models.
However, I do think it has a lot to do with social, and moral ignorance.
