I just spoke briefly to Destiny and she sends her gratitude and love to all who have continued to pray for her and send good thoughts her way, and especially Gaye for keeping everyone updated. She was home less than a day when this episode overtook her, and it was most likely brought on by some vent repair that was done in her room at the rehab facility before she left it. She is allergic to the dust and mold that was probably released when they opened those vents. She was also expressing amazement at how wonderful a CPAP machine works with oxygen to ease breathing for a COPD patient. Far more comfortable than being intubated and using a ventilator. The nurses and doctors are confident that she will recover and return home, but it will be quite some time and she anticipates being there in the nursing facility at least a month. If anyone would like to send her a card, contact me and I'll share the name and address. Remember, only you can make the choice of how YOUR song is written, and give that song a voice. |

Thanks for the update. I'm so glad to hear of the Docs confidence and that the CPAP is working. Gaye shared her info with me for mailing, but thanks for the offer. Destiny-I know you will hate being cooped up but so glad you are feeling better. Big hugs, Ane   Love is a picture postcard life.

Glad that the CPAP is helping Destiny. At least if Destiny has to be in the hospital it is NOW, when the weather is less than nice.....and when she comes home, the weather will be bursting out in Spring all over, and a much nicer time for her. Thanks for the update MrsJoe. We miss you Destiny, so please keep getting better and come back to us as soon as you get home. You have really been through so much with this awful COPD. You'll be busy the first week you're home reading all these update blogs and well wishes.

I'm sure the time drags for her at the nursing facility, and she will enjoy the cards and letters. She does not have a laptop and I'm not sure if they would have internet access if she did, so she is pretty much isolated from all of us for awhile. Pat Thanks for this post, I have been sending those who post to the blog e-mails with her addy so they could send cards. Calling her wears her out quickly, so I encourage cards and letters. From what she has told me they give her therapy till she is ready to drop and then put them to bed around 6:00 pm EST. So don't think she has much time to be bored. Pulmonary rehab is very hard work, and when you are sick and weak I imagine very tiring. I had mine while well and it wore me out. Back to Destiny I know how much she will enjoy the cards and letters. With her lungs Folks please no live flowers, we want her to get well and get home. Bo the Rehab does have a computer, but Destiny told me before,she is just too tired after her long days of therapy to go and get on their computer. I know how much we all miss her posts But lets remember she does need to rest. Thanks to all you wonderful SFF members.
