The Fallacy of Creating Jobs by Stimulus Spending.

.....I like many Americans get a little sick of the arrogance and elitist know it all attitudes of Liberals. They tell us Spending vast sums of money helps the economy and saves jobs. They tell us the only way to reduce the debt is to raise taxes. Utter and complete nonsense. Are they so dense that they do not know that every dime spent on stimulus to create demand and a job has to come from somewhere and it ain't the tooth fairy. For every dime spent there is one less dime that the private sector can spend to create a real job instead of filling potholes in Pennsylvania.......Hey but what do I know I'm just 60minman........
.........Recently POTUS's press Secretary Robert Gibbs ranted away at Rush Limbaugh for criticizing the bailout of General Motors. Gibbs said it "saved" millions of jobs. Did the money fall from the sky? Just how difficult is it to understand that when you take money from taxpayers to save the jobs of one set of workers what does it do to the demand for jobs for other sets of workers? go to the head of the class if you say its a wash. For every job saved another job is lost. Why do you think that unemployment has been stuck at around 10% these past 18 months. "Its the Spending Stupid" is the new battle cry that's wasted on liberal ideology as they wonder why and blame their political troubles on the perceived racism of the Tea Party...........Proponents of Keynesian theory are just to dense to understand that borrowing does the same thing. When people spend money on Government Bonds there is less money in the private sector to be spent on goods and services that again create real jobs instead of some paper pusher at the local city hall.......
......In Business the bottom line is profits which creates capital and used for expansion, which in turn creates legitimate employment, which will reduce the Debt by economic growth. Alas Joe Liberal on the other hand thinks otherwise. Spending vast sums of money in politically strategic places helps the Demon-ocrats politically but not the economic future and stability of this Country, and that is obviously their bottom line..........

The General Who Serves Ice Cream.........

.....It was sometime in July of 1968 when my Ist AirCav Troop was enroute home to LZ Nancy from a foray out to Khe Sanh. On the way back, we were asked to pause briefly to form a perimeter around a landing zone (LZ) quite close to the actual DMZ at Marine Combat base Con Thien. I asked what was going to be landed there, but was told that could not be revealed. My unit had occupied the firebase at Charlie 2 before and had operated around its northern neighbor, Con Thien (Alpha 4), several times, so we knew the terrain pretty well........
.......When we arrived at the proposed LZ, it was a large area of rice paddies, long since abandoned when the South Vietnamese population had been removed from the DMZ and resettled further south. It was such a large open area that I began to suspect that perhaps we were going to secure not an LZ but a Drop Zone, perhaps for the Army to conduct their mandatory one-per-war airborne drop so that paratroopers could get the combat star on their jump wings. I quickly set up my Troop around the area in a protective perimeter and awaited further events........
........Soon, a lone CH 46 Marine Sea Knight helicopter appeared and landed on one of the paddy dikes. When the back ramp was lowered, out came six guys dressed in cooks' whites, carrying insulated mermite cans. My radio lit up with calls from my platoon leaders. What was this all about? I pleaded ignorance, but kept watching through binoculars. In just a few minutes, a ragged, unshaven band of seven or eight Marines came out of the nearby wood line in tactical formation. I recognized them as a Marine Recon team who, from their looks, hadn't seen a shower or a razor in several weeks......
........As they approached the CH-46, the guys in the cooks' whites opened their mermite cans and prepared an ice cream sundae to order for each Recon Marine. I mean whipped cream, nuts, maraschino cherries - the whole shebang! My radio lit up again, more platoon leaders wanting to know what in the h&ll was going on? I told them it looked like an ice cream social to me. ...
.......After eating the sundaes, the Recon Marines turned around and walked back into the jungle and the DMZ. The CH-46 took off. We stayed in position until I could reach 3rdMARDIV Operations to see if we could depart. They told me to stand by for Sudden Death 66, the two-star commander of the 3rdMarine Division Medal of Honor recipient MGen Raymond Davis wanted to explain. He called in from that same CH-46 helicopter and asked me if I wondered about the mission we had been given. I told him how we were a bit perplexed. The general went on to say that one of his Marine Recon teams had been inside the DMZ for almost a month, and he felt they deserved an ice cream sundae. I said I thought that was a wonderful idea. The general said that the reason an entire Cavalry Troop was required to secure the LZ for the cooks was that III Marine Amphibious Force HQS wouldn't allow the sundaes to be served unless the area was absolutely secured. We were that absolute security and, by the way, MGen Davis was one of the guys in the cooks' whites. He told me to thank my troopers and tell them the story. What a display of outstanding leadership! MGen Ray Davis retired from the Marine Corps a full 4 star General on 31 March 1972 with over 33 years of active service covering 3 wars. His awards include the Medal of Honor, The Navy Cross, Silver and Bronze Stars and numerous othe personal and campaign citations and medals.
General Davis passed away in 2003 and was buried at Forest Lawn memorial gardens, College Park, Georgia. In honor of his Brave and faithful service to our Country his burial detail Officer in Charge was the then Marine Corps Commandant General John Hagee. He was a Marine's General through and through and when he arrived at the pearly gates "Chesty" was there waiting to say Semper Fi Ray you old warrior bastard!........America may have mourned for him in death but America is extremely grateful because he lived.......God bless those who lead and those who serve and God bless the United States of America.

.....The Nation's debt is really startling and instead of doing the necessary things to get it under control, the Obama Administration and the Democrat controlled Congress is hell bent on seeing it go through the roof. The gushing of incompetent leadership being put forth by the white house and Congress makes the oil that was spilled in the gulf look like a raindrop. Now before the Obamaclones get their knickers all wadded up here are the Numbers from the previous administration and the Community Organizer's.
POTUS Bush:
20 Jan 2001 5.7 trillion--19 Jan 2009 10.6 Trillion
Average deficit spending per month....51 million dollars *
POTUS Obama:
20 Jan 2009 10.6 Trillion--31 July 2010 13.2 Trillion
Average deficit spending per month....144 million dollars *

The economy is considerably worse off now than it was 18 months ago and it cost the taxpayer 2.6 trillion dollars in deficit spending with the blessing of the Democrat Congress and the Obama administration to find this out. What gets me is that they are saying its not enough. They are telling me, you, the guy down the street, and every other taxpayer that we are not doing enough so taxes have to be raised. When will they reign in the spending? Just like the Oil in the gulf the crisis did not get better until the (damn hole) was Plugged. Same thing with illegal immigration the problem will not be solved until the borders are secure. Is it any wonder why the Tea Party's all across the country are growing by leaps and bounds. The President wants to know "Who's a** to kick"? He needs to start with his own, then his cabinet, Pelosi and Reid. If that's not enough for him I have a list of others he can start on......
....If you have never done it before its time you contacted your Senator and Representative tell them its time to "Plug the (damn) Hole"

........Mr. and Mrs Smith have relocated to new city in another State. Every Saturday morning they enjoy home cooked pancakes for breakfast. In an effort to get to know their neighbors and meet new friends the Smith's place a sign on their front lawn which says Free Pancakes 7am-10am every Saturday. It didn't take long before the Smiths were having a small gathering of people living nearby and everyone was enjoying this arrangement as people got to know other people and the social impact was very positive.....
.....After about 6 weeks a letter from the code enforcement officer arrived directing the Smith's that they are in violation of the City's Nuisance Law and the must stop their neighborhood pancake breakfast. Feeling their rights have been taken away the Smith's file suit against the City in State court. The judge agrees with the Smith's invalidates the Nuisance law and allows the Smith's to continue their neighborhood pancake breakfast's......
.......Not to be out done and having enough opposition to the Smith's pursuit the City holds a ballot referendum to include the Nuisance law in the City's charter. It passes with 53% of the vote so now the City tells the Smith's they are in violation of the City's Charter and must stop their neighborhood pancake breakfast........
.......Now the Smith's are really outraged and with the support of the neighborhood and others a suit is brought in Federal court to overturn the vote of the people and the Cities Charter. The Federal judge rules that the vote of the people and the Nuisance law in the City's charter is unconstitutional despite the fact that nowhere in the Constitution does the right to hold a neighborhood pancake breakfast appear.....
.......The City plans to take this to an appeals court and vows to go all the way to the Supreme court if necessary......
.......Now who do you think will eventually win out over this issue? the Smith's or the City? I know the majority of you will say that the Smith's will prevail and even I feel they should but this is not how the Smith's should proceed because our Constitution gives State and local authorities to enact whatever laws and ordinances the see fit to maintain law and order within their own juristictions. What the Smith's should do is to go out and convince enough voters in their City on a future referendum to change the City's Charter Nuisance law and allow them to continue their neighborhood pancake breakfast. This all seems silly but its all about Due process not about what I, you, or anybody else feels is right or wrong.........America is a Constitutional Republic. We are governed by a document so revered and admired that it is copied in one way or another by free peoples everywhere. When those folks in the Black robes decide otherwise this County sets a dangerous precedent for our future.

......You expect Republican politicians to criticize Democratic administrations and vice versa. But when Democrats start criticizing Democratic administrations, that is news. Someone once said that the headline "Dog bites Man" is not news, but "Man bites Dog" is. We are now starting to get "Democrat bites Democrat" news. Long-time Democratic pollsters Patrick Caddell and Douglas Schoen last week in an WSJ op-ed article took on one of President Barack Obama's most bitter betrayals of his campaign rhetoric and the high hopes of people who voted for him.
....... "Rather than being a unifier, Mr. Obama has divided America on the basis of race, class and partisanship. Moreover, his cynical approach to governance has encouraged his allies to pursue a similar strategy of racially divisive politics on his behalf."
.......Cynical? This man with the lofty rhetoric and sermonizing style? Only if you follow his deeds, instead of his words. Now some people do not look behind rhetoric and symbolism. Such people are prime candidates to become part of the Obama cult. Those who look only at deeds tend to become critics. But those who closely follow both his words and his deeds are the most outraged of all, because of the gross contradictions between those words and those deeds.......
.......Caddell and Schoen go all the way back to Jeremiah Wright in tracing Barack Obama's actual track record when it comes to race. That Obama spent 20 years in the church of a man preaching racial hate should have told us all we needed to know. Additionally as President, on nationwide television, he could attack a white policeman who arrested his friend Henry Louis Gates, while admitting that he didn't know the specifics, should have alerted even those who had bought the excuses about the Jeremiah Wright fiasco........
.........Caddell and Schoen also mention the refusal of Obama's Justice Department to prosecute black thugs who stationed themselves outside a voting place to intimidate whites who came there to vote. It was caught on tape but the career Justice Department attorney who handled the case was told to drop it-- and resigned rather than be part of a sordid coverup......
.........Now, Caddell and Schoen argue, the Obama administration's coming to the rescue of illegal immigrants in Arizona is more of the same race-based politics, in this case to win the Hispanic vote. President Obama would rather have an issue with which to win the Hispanic vote than to have a bipartisan bill that would simply take control of the borders. Such a bill would help the country but that obviously takes a back seat in an election year. Even some members of Obama's own party are uneasy with such cynicism...........How many broken promises and out right lies will it take for the Obama supporters to wake up......

......One of the scare tactics the Democrats are saying the Republicans will take away is to repeal the 17th amendment. It was adopted along with the 16th which authorized income taxes in 1913. Prior to that year Senators were chosen by State Legislators to represent the interests of the State they came from. If a Senator opposed something that the State he came from
endorsed he would not be a Senator for long. All that changed as Senators are now elected by popular vote of each State and now no longer represent their States interest but the interest of the Imperial Federal Government. Example; If a majority, say in California, do not want a gun control law passed their Senators Boxer and Feinstien will vote to allow it because they do not represent Californians interest but the interest of the Federal Government. This is why they and other Democrats will allow the Bush Tax cuts to expire at the end of this year despite the fact that the people do not want it to expire. For whatever reason Democrats believe that you can solve a spending problem with higher taxes. Cant be done. Taxes have never added to the deficit but spending does. A simple truth lost on our progressive liberal legislators...........I say we repeal both amendments enact the fair tax and go back to the days when Senators represented the interests of the State that they come from not Washington DC..........God does bless America but its time for the people to step up and do their share. We will November 2nd. God is blessing the TEA party and everyone will see that on August 28th......

........Mitehigh has just posted a blog about do tax cuts increase revenue to the treasury. He seems to think they do not and even posted some weird chart by the CBO which was based on part actual and part projected numbers. It was all very confusing so to simplify things I have the actual amounts collected in taxes as reported by the IRS for the years 2002-2007. I did not see the actual figures for 2008-09. Maybe they are not out yet I dont know.
2002....$797 Billion
2003....$748 Billion
2004....$832 Billion
2005....$935 Billion
2006....$1 Trillion 24 Billion
2007....$1 Trillion 116 Billion
Sure looks like the Bush Tax cuts have increased revenues to me.
All I can say is I report you decide.....
P.S. Once he sees this he will bring out every liberal economist and a few other assorted weirdo's to dispute my numbers......Oh well such is life.....

..........The entire proceeds of the auction.. the entire high bid...was donated to The Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, a registered charity which provides financial assistance to the children of fallen Marines and federal law enforcement officers. Rush Limbaugh serves on the Board of this organization and has been active on its behalf. All costs of this auction will be paid by the seller... every dollar of the winning bid went to this charity, which has to date distributed over $29 million. Mr Limbaugh matched dollar for dollar the winning bid as this charity recieved one check for over 4.2 million dollars from Mr Limbaugh.......
.......Mr. Limbaugh first publicly displayed this letter on the night of October 11th during a speech in Philadelphia, having a security operative carry it on stage, with the letter itself safely encased in a Halliburton Attache case handcuffed to the agent's right wrist. Included in this auction is that same Halliburton briefcase, as well as a personal letter from Rush Limbaugh, thanking the winning bidder for his donation.........

A Visit with Mr Co...........CJC and I, pic included.

.......CJC and I had planned on leaving for Tennesse on Friday but she was a bit under the weather with a sinus headache so we got up early on Saturday and headed out. Arriving in Morristown Tn Mr. Co's hometown some 6+ hours later we checked into a local motel. After a quick lunch and a change of clothes we headed for Mr Cos home. I presented him a copy of all the comments that everyone so graciously posted on the Blog I had done last week. It really touched him that so many had so many nice things to say. Bob (Mr Co) is having a tough time handling his situation for the stoke devastaed his whole left side of his body. A nursing service sits with him during the day and his only son drives up from Knoxville (130M round trip) every night and weekend to be with him. Thats quite a strain on him as he and his wife have 2 small children. That night CJC and I met Bob and his Son at Golden Corral for Dinner. What a pleasant time we had. This morning we again all met for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Bob (MrCo) is quite a guy for I cant think of anyone who would have a mean word to say about him. He sends his best and love to everyone and misses all his friends and aquaintances in SFF. I might add that all of us needs to say a small prayer whenever you can for him to sustain himself and give him the strength to cope with this disability.........CJC and I left after breakfast this morning with misty eyes for we know that something like that can happen to any of us at any time. We had planned on staying in the NC Mountains today but the weather was not cooperating so we just headed home..................Bob if you are able to go on line and read this blog We care about you and you are in our prayers.....God bless you Mr Co.......
