I’m Ready to Take on The Mid East Crisis

I love having a big close family and being the matriarch but it can have it’s moments.

I spent the afternoon negotiating an agreement between one of my sisters and my step mother. Nothing worse than 2 equally hard headed stubborn relatives who both believe they are right and want you to support their side. I did manage to negotiate something neither is thrilled with but both can live with. Peace - at least for now.

I’m ready – Israel, Iraq, Ferguson – it can’t be much worse.

Good job and good luck with Mid East Crisis as they have only been fighting since before the 1600's.

I am recommending you to the Secretary General of the United Nations for appointment as his special envoy for the Gaza Conflict - I assure you that if you could successfully swing peace in the circumstances you described, you will do it in Gaza too !!

Maybe you can do that between India and Pakistan too - Geelanis and the ISI notwithstanding !!??

Have a great week ahead after a fun Sunday !!

I think family life is all about being able to negotiate with each other. That is what makes it a working family group.

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

I only remember the last couple of generations of my family but I suspect they have been fighting for just as long. Nothing like the Latin temper for passion in all respects.

But they are worth it.

No - conflicts need to be talked out and resolved. My mother's family was inclined to ignore them while they festered and kept everyone unhappy. Her mother even carried some of them on when she was on her death bed and incoherent. Not a comfortable way to live.

That and remembering that no matter how much we may disagree we still love each other, making the goal to resolve not win.

True in the initial stages but now everything has to be "approved" by the men involved (stepfather and sis's BF).
