What happened between me and some guy on another site is really quite silly in my book, so let me explain. I belonged to this group that had to do with Dodge trucks. We shared pics, talked about them, with classic trucks like mine we shared info on where to get parts and so on. Fun group, but I didn't realize at the time that the owner of this group was so prejudice against vehicles made by, or from foreign countries. One day I go into the group and he has a post about Toyota trucks and started making fun of them, putting them down because they aren't American. Then he started on the Japanese people. So now I am looking at the real person and it made me sick that I was even a part of this group. Well of course I'm going to let him know the truth of the matter and here is what I told him. My Toyota truck was made right here in San Antonio, TX. Though it may not be an American brand of vehicle, the plant here supplies jobs to the American people. Now my Dodge was assembled in Mexico, it says so right there on the driver's side door. Where was your Dodge made, and if you support jobs for America, why do you not support a company that gives these jobs to Americans? Well, the coward made sure he ridiculed me for all to see and then deleted me from the group. He said some horrible things about Japan as well. Not that any of it bothered me, it takes a lot more than that to get me upset, I mean a lot more, but my thoughts were, what a sick person he is. I also planned on leaving the group after that, so it didn't matter that he decided to do it himself, but the coward made sure I couldn't reply to his comment. Is this what we've become? All I did was point out the facts, the truth, and boom! Deleted!! No civil discussion between us, his mind did not want to accept any form of truth, just he was right and I was wrong. Seems we see a lot of this in this day and age. Sad how a difference of opinion can divide us

What your friend should know is that no vehicle sold is truly American....sorry for that news, China and Mexico are making nearly 100% of all the parts now and they are imported and assembled here. So he may want to look into that.....before he criticizes. There is a percentage still made in the US, but the chances of a vehicle being 100% American made are slim to none. Differences in environmental laws, labor laws (OSHA) (Safety) included, and pay rates mean it is simply good business not to produce in American. One day though these companies will face that the lack of jobs will make their products stay on the lot

Nile, people are mysterious creatures. They can change from one minute to the next. I had a puzzling experience some months ago. A "friend" dropped me without telling...... I guess, I said something wrong about that C hype without knowing. Happiness is when what you think, what you say, what you do are in harmony - M. Gandhi

What a world it has become~~~ Before the internet & what is laughingly called 'social media', the nutters were all on the fringes of our society. Now they are front and centre... and hiding behind their computers spewing misinformation, prejudice, and hate. I'm getting tired of just shaking my head~~

The crazy thing is some American made cars break down and discontinue very important needed part. ( Cadillac ) Guess who made the part I needed .... Toyota. Most parts needed come from other countries. If someone goes to the auto store and picks up a part for their American made car...it's probably from another country.

THE TOYOTA YARIS FOR EUROPE IS MADE IN FRANCE. MY PEUGEOT 106 I GOT RID OF AFTER 16 YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE WAS MADE IN SLOVAKIA. GO FIGURE. SOME PEOPLE JUST PLAIN DO NOT REALIZE THERE IS A WHOLE WORLD BEYOND THEIR LITTLE TOWN OR COUNTY. THERE IS NO USE TRYING TO DISCUSS ANYTHING, JUST DROP THEM AND GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE.
