I really enjoyed reading this, I had to try kissing my elbow after reading it. It is really difficult, isn't it?

Great story ! I didn't compete with my brothers and sister. Too many years difference in us all. But I get the left behind feeling. My sister is 10 years older than me. She was pretty and had nice clothes and bf's. My older brother, went here and there, and when my Mom told him to watch my little brother .. he would promise me something if I watched him and I got nothing ! (payback for him though was my Mom made me watch him that he actually went into the school and didn't ditch school). My younger brother was the baby, he had heart problems and was allowed to do what he wanted. So I was a little jealous that they were better than me. But, I was the one who helped do things, so I was the angel (good one). As for running...I was fast, I was either first or second in races. And loved playing baseball. Heals and a dress never stopped me, but it did help me to get to bases (real baseball bases) ! LOL

HOW INTERESTING. I LIVED IN A CHICAGO SUBURB BUT FELT EXACTLY THE SAME WAY. MY BROTHER, 8 YEARS OLDER THAN ME, WAS ABLE TO DO ALL SORTS OF THINGS AND GO PLACES I WASN'T. BUT WITH THE YEARS, I HAVE MANAGED TO DO MANY THINGS GIRLS DID NOT DO THEN AND HAVE BEEN MANY PLACES AND KNOW ALL SORTS OF PEOPLE. BEING A WOMAN HASN'T BEEN ALL THAT BAD.

I think we all have had a time or two in life where the opposite gender seemed to have it better. As a girl, I can dress in torn jeans and flannel shirts and no one blinks. As a boy, I would get some odd stares (in my area at least) in a set of thigh highs and a pretty dress. I think I have more freedom as who I am. There were times though, that this would not have been so. Our world is always changing.
