Letter to my ex-wife...
I know I may not have been exactly easy to live with over the course of our 15 year marriage.
But, I never gambled, was completely faithful to you, never drank, and did not do drugs.
I suppose perhaps it was the "little things" that did us in.
I admit some of my idiosyncrasies might have contributed to a sense of agitation in our 15 year marriage - but who's perfect ?
Yea, I guess it was the "little things".
Like my taking boxes of corn flakes to bed each night and having ½ the box of crunchy corn flake crumbs end up in the bed.
or the time I glued the toilet seat to the toilet basin with crazy glue and for 3 months you had to use a rubber donut to sit on every time you needed to use the toilet.
There was the time you were gone on business for 3 days and I had to watch our 3 year old son billy.
I do remember you seemed a bit annoyed when you finally arrived home to find Billy duct taped to the wall for three days.
He seemed to like it at first -- and he could take his naps anytime he wanted.
And then there was the time I was working in the garden and jokingly I chased a skunk into your clothes closet in the bedroom.
I did not realize you would have to Throw all of your clothes away from the smell of skunk. I thought the smell would go away after a few months.
In hindsight perhaps I might have thought twice before doing that.
Oh, and about my accidentally setting your puppy on fire 3 years ago, it was a mistake.
-- and he survived anyway, bald as he may now be. I do apologize to you for that.
How was I to know that washing the puppy in Gasoline had a down side?
The gasoline really cleaned him up well, I did not expect a spark to ignite him.
That certainly was a sight seeing a flaming puppy run 100 mph across the living room floor and out the front door.
And I do apologize for the time I accidentally drove your Mercedes Benz into Tampa Bay
- the stick shift simply got stuck from all the cream in the donuts I was eating. I guess the cream ended up all over my hands and the stick shift.
And I remember the time I super glued your nipples together at night while you were asleep.
It just seemed like a good idea at the time. I guess I should not have drank those 3 beers before bed.
It's true you did not seem to wake up laughing about it.
For me it was those wonderful little endearing things that I will always remember most about our time together.
All I can say is I TRIED.
I tried to make things work for us all of these years.
I loved you and worshiped the ground you walked on.
And I am sorry I gave you STD, I do not know how that happened.

I don't think English is this mans first language. In fact I get a lot of these, and they all seem to be written by the same person.

I was talking to a Friend today about costumes for the St Pete Bash. The theme being "A Celebration of Life", I'm not quite sure how we should dress. So I Googled it, and found several beautiful Poems that could be read at someones funeral. Lot's of suggestions for things to do to celebrate, such as picnic's, strolls on the beach etc etc. But that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a way to 'dress' that will show a cause for celebration.
For those of you that are just as confused as I am, let me offer my thoughts.
"A Celebration of life"
We celebrate Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, Valentines day, and on and on. Anyone can pick a Holiday, go online, find a costume, buy it and be set for the party. What I would like to do, and see others do is dress as something ordinary. Something that gives us pleasure on a regular basis, not just on holidays. Since I'm on a carb free sugar free diet, it would be a celebration for me to have a 'Buttered Dinner Roll' or a Hot Fudge Sunday......lol

My little Gangster did. Today when Dad picked them up the 5yr old started telling all the threats I made to him and his Brother. Things like "if you throw that at your brother again I'm gonna make you eat it". "Tomorrow instead of trying to have a fun day with you guys, I'm gonna take you down to the daily work daily pay place and get you a job". "If you don't sit down and stop jumping around I'm gonna sell you to the Gypsy's and you can dance for them, 'cause I'm not enjoying it". "Wedgies are not permitted here, and will be reciprocated by Me". "If you hurt your brother again you're gonna have to Kiss his booboo, so stop trying to kick him in the crotch". What can I say in defense of myself, I'm out of Buttermilk, the one punishment I can always count on. I did make them lay on my bed while I read them a story. Lordy, they hated that.

Tittilating details about my Divorce....

Every Sunday a group of people from my Church go to lunch together after services. Sometimes I go, sometimes I don't, yesterday I did. Most of theses people I've known all my life, but I've just started going to this Church. One of the women I have kept my distance from, deliberately. Yesterday I couldn't avoid her without being rude, so I ended-up seated next to her. Before our meal arrived she brought up my Divorce and wanted to know what happened. I avoided her by side stepping her questions until she finally said "well I guess it's really none of my business". It ruined my lunch, ruined my afternoon, ruined my night, now it's ruining my Monday thinking about what I wish I had said. Those of you who know me can probably guess what I wanted to say to her, but I didn't.
What she wanted was dirty details. Tales of infidelity, abuse, money problems, whatever titillating info she could get to spice up her dull life or make her feel more 'Righteous'. Sorry folks there aren't any. Even if there were, only my closest Friends and Family would be privy to details.
Thinking about it I could compare my Divorce to 'Retirement'. Being a Mother & Wife was my job. True I worked outside the home periodically, but my main job was my Home & Family. After my children became independent, and my husband decided to retire, I started to think about how I would spend the last part of my life. What did 'I' need to make ME Happy? I certainly didn't want to shut myself away from life the way he did. But how does a woman 'Retire' from being a Homemaker? A man can retire from his job/work and spend his time doing what he enjoys, and still have a wife to take care of his needs.
When my husband retired, I decided to retire too. I wanted to go places, visit Family, make new Friends, just have some fun. Unfortunately he had different ideas, and was immovable (literally)...lol... Thus the Divorce. True, I still have to clean house, cook, do laundry, and I'm still a Mother. But I do it on my schedule and only for myself. I'm retired and Loving it.

Even though my Blog about "My Views of a SFF Bash" was just that, My Views. It seems my point wasn't made as well as I hoped, it was always about the Monetary side, for the planners. Some understood, and some didn't. Thus, the Bickering began, which was not my intention at all. Well Folks the Bickering needs to stop, now. The whole thing has gotten out of hand.
The problem has been solved. The Hotel has let Duck out of his contract, and the Nashville Bash has now been downsized to a Gathering. There will be no hospitality room that has to be paid for, so there will be no FEE for attendees. That also means there will be no games, no decorations, no snacks, and no one (1) gathering place. Everyone will have the luxury of planning their own outings, meals, & fun-time.
In the past the organizers have always done a great job planning this Bash, so I expect this "Gathering" to be great too. The Welcome Mat is Out, Everyone is Welcome.
P.S. I'm not one of the Organizers, but I was asked to be an 'Alternate' in case more help was needed with all the shopping for snacks, decorating, cleaning-up etc.,and I agreed to be. Please, don't let that keep you from attending....
