I COULD NOT READ YOUR BLOG - WE ONCE WERE FRIENDS BUT SINCE I HAVE GONE BACK TO STANDARD I THINK I HAVE LOST ONE OR TWO.

I CANNOT INVITE ANYONE TO BE A FRIEND. SO, IF YOU COULD INVITE ME WOULD BE GREAT. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN TRY TO CONTACT YOU.

But, if you want an update on the man in my life I am sorry to say ................................ you are not getting one!

I actually want to write about my hairdresser. As a nurse, some years ago, I discovered a young local guy was taking over the salon close to the hospital. How convenient for me, I would give him a try. He was local, had been away to train and now returned. I was so happy with his cuts and the fact that he worked alone that I remained his client for nearly 20 years. Over those years we discussed every subject available and solved the world problems time and time again. He moved into a new salon, he married, two daughters are quickly growing up. Each time he cut my hair I would make my next appointment.

One day he sought me out at my work and told me he was taking a complete change of direction. I thought "oh no, he's getting divorced". But no it was far worse than that. He had come to tell me he would not be able to keep the appointment I had made, no I could not make another appointment, he was giving up hairdressing!
My shock was indescribable.................

I let my hair grow a little then went to have it cut. It was very basic and cost a heap! I let my hair grow a little and went to have it cut. Different hairdresser this time and I went back a second time. The third time I went I waited 3/4 of an hour for her to get to me - very disappointing. That was twelve months ago. So, I let my hair grow a little and a little more, I trimmed the ends myself, then let it grow a little more. It is now almost 12 months since I last had it cut - it has grown and is now long! I love it and can tie it back when I wish.

My old hairdressers salon sat empty of some time and then suddenly things started to happen. It was being revamped - whats going to be there I wondered. Then I heard it was to once again be a hairdressing salon - maybe I will give it try then. NOW I have just heard that the woman who owns this salon specialises in ......................................cutting of long hair!!
Next week I am off to make my first appointment with her.

REMEMBER WHEN I POSTED THIS IN JULY 2011? Feb 20, 2012 8:51 pm

It's unusual, tonight I cannot sleep
For what I now know has made me weep

You see, I met a man who had read my blog
And, as luck has it, he also owns a dog

I saw the sun, the moon, stars and sparks
All the time that we walked in the park

How I wish that day could be tomorrow
But the day to come will be full of sorrow

Walk side by side and soon become friends
But alas, for now, it has come to an end

Yes it was all too good to be true
But I truly am glad that I met you

You see, for me, it has happened before
I really must learn to not open that door

And, so tonight, I cannot sleep
Silently, alone, I sit and weep

WELL I AM REPOSTING THIS - JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THIS MAN HAS COME BACK INTO MY LIFE. IT WILL NOT BE PLAIN SAILING BUT I WILL DO MY UTMOST TO MAKE IT THAT WAY. IT IS MOST CERTAINLY WORTH A TRY.

She's Gone Off Line ......................... Feb 14, 2012 3:07 am

I have just had a very welcome phone call from JANO. It is so nice to actually speak to people I have met in blogland.

JANO was concerned as her last blog was concentrated on Aaron. shortly after that her computer went on the blink and it has a virus. Jano said to let everyone know that it occurred when she was accepting an update of Adobe Reader. So do be aware of this and say no unless you are sure of any updates. Microsoft are apparently aware of this problem though.

Anyway, JANO has no idea how long whe will be off line without her computer. So, if you are wondering about her and Aaaron all is much the same as it was last week.

I love all these modern day things - computer, internet, google etc etc but when they stop working then it is like someone cut off all your communication to the world. I am hoping JANO will be back with us soon though and I will update if it proves to be even worse than she thought.

HOW ON EARTH AM I GOING TO DO THIS? Feb 7, 2012 4:52 am

OMG! IT'S OFFICIAL! TODAY I BECAME A STANDARD MEMBER!

Oh, I cannot do anything. No emails, no viewing, no contact!I can't even look at where I'm quoted! And it even tells me I cannot post pics on blog posts - now I thought that one was a bit strange. Oh and I cannot do 101 other things either.

I must say it was a bit of a shock but one that I will have to get used to. Down the track, if finances recover or improve then maybe I will go back to silver but right now I must not give in. I am stuck on STANDARD with about 90% of the other bloggers here. But, I know they cope ok with it so I can too.

WISH ME LUCK EVERYONE. I WILL TRY HARD TO STAY HERE. THIS IS YET ANOTHER CHALLENGE I FACE ALONE AS I LIVE MY LIFE!

I'VE DONE IT BEFORE..................... Jan 28, 2012 12:26 am

BUT THEN CHANGED MY MIND

Originally I was a standard member but pretty soon I had upgraded to GOLD so I could meet more men. LOL! A lot of good that did me So it was that I dropped back to being a STANDARD MEMBER.

Oh, I did find it very restrictive and decided that I would try SILVER. This seemed to suit my blogging needs and for some months I have stayed with that.

Well, currently, times are tough in Australia - as it is in much of the world. So, I am cutting back on any unnecessary spending. I must be able to pay my essential service bills and I must continue to care for my domestic animals, Ellie rottie and myself. So I am going STANDARD again - I know it will be awkward but I simply will get used to it. One thing that makes me positive that I will manage is the fact that so many of my fellow bloggers are "standard members". I will keep on blogging.

to everyone.

AUSTRALIA DAY....................... Jan 25, 2012 9:49 pm

January 26th is Australia Day.
A day where we celebrate living in our lovely country. A day where communities honour a local person who has given much to the area. A day where Her Majesty, The Queen, signs off on awards to people who have given of themselves. This year our Australian of the Year is actor, Jeffrey Rush.

It is also a day of fine Aussie food. Traditionally a barbecue lunch or evening meal. Lamb chops, sausages, meat pies, lamingtons and home made scones are very traditional Australia Day fare.

Well for me I am not doing too well on the traditional food. Having been unwell I have done little shopping. I managed porridge for breakfast, dry bikkies and chese for lunch! Umm........ I think tonight it will be a traditional salad but not much else. I am happy to report though, that I can now walk and breath at the one time and I actually have tackled some farming chores today. When I'm unwell I feel ok but as I get better I realise just how unwell I have been!

Just a little poem as I reflect..................................... Jan 22, 2012 6:06 pm

When the wind is angry, the trees show fear
On days like this, a bushfire may be near
I clearly remember, and in such vivid aray
The fires of three years ago, Black Saturday

I watched, as smoke billowed around our farm
I hurried, there was no time to yarn
With drought, so little water to fight a fire
My situation, truly was one so dire

The cattle, made home and quietly sat
Close to water troughs, as though for a chat
The horses all there, with heads hung low
Over water troughs, what sense they did show

The fire passed them, withing fifty metres
The water was now down, to the last few litres
The front was gone but, spot fires erupt
Quickly, into action to snuff them all out

Fire trucks, sirens, some deafening noise
Somehow, I managed to keep my poise
Four cats in shock, awoken from their sleep
The noise too much, they only take a quick peep

My dog is safe, I know where she is
If her feet burnt, there would be a fizz
Trucks become bogged, the sandhills are heavy
With tractor and chain, I am kept very busy

Finally it's dark, the heat has gone
But for my dog, I am now all alone
There is no power, no water, no food
This fire, has simply brought no good

Tomorrow, the animals will need hay
It will be such a hectic day
How I will manage, I do not know
Fire trucks patrolling, to sleep I go

AND SO IT IS, THAT ALMOST THREE YEARS ON I AM STILL HERE, I HAVE MANAGED, I HAVE COME THROUGH - BUT HOW I HONESTLY DO NOT KNOW!!

As Usual.............. Jan 19, 2012 6:47 pm

Oh yes! As usual my life is coasting along with me wondering where the time goes. The farm is busy with me taking on two orphan baby calves to feed three times a day. Cattle are well and the horses, including my two rescue ponies, are fat and in the best of health.

Summer is hot but some days are so beautiful. Then there are the days where the wind hits great heights and comes in from the north west. On these days I fear fire is imminent.

Ellie rottie is absolutely shining - she does hate the heat but she is now obviously pain free so her duty is to be with me. Her unconditional company and dedication to her duty leaves me with little tears in my eyes. A truly remarkable dog.

So, what has changed for me? Being busy it simply caught up with me. You see I am always tired - so nothing new there. The sore throat made me think I was getting a cold. Instead it progressed to a dry cough and exercise intolerance, I continued going to work but made an appointment with the Doctor for my first day off. The diagnosis is Bronchitis bordering on Pneumonia! an extended course of antibiotics has been commenced and I have been told to rest during my days off and only go back to work if I feel that my breathing is becoming normal. HOWEVER, the Dr says that as I am a non-smoker and my lungs are normally healthy I will be fine, with time, but he suggested that I am somewhat rundown!

WORST thing is I do not feel sick! So, it was a shock to get this diagnosis. I am posting this, as a warning, to say we need to take time to listen to our bodies. The only reason I went to Dr was because of the exercise intolerance and the dry cough. That was all I had time to notice.
