MEDICAL ADVICE NEEDED

This past week I have taken my blood pressure readings several times that show relatively normal readings, but the pulse rates were sometimes higher than normal.
I awoke an hour ago, in the middle of the night, and decided to check my blood pressure. It was 130/80. However, the pulse rate showed 103 which is the highest I have seen it.
There was a slight pain in my left arm between the shoulder and elbow. I had been lying on my left side with my body on top of the arm so figured that was why there was the discomfort. It is not hurting now.
Am I worrying too much? My 89 year old sister had a heart attack a month ago, but seems fine now. Our father had died of a second heart attack at age 66 after surviving a massive one in his mid 50ies.
The only medication I take is for glaucoma, and I feel healthy. I sometimes take a baby aspirin (I used to take one daily after my heart went crazy a few years ago, but the arteries were clear).

I LOVE THIS CARTOON!!!!!!

A friend from Canada sent me a winter poem AND this cartoon. Now I KNOW many have touched frozen metal and attached their tongues to it. I also read the hilarious account of a young woman who leaned against the side of a car when she was desperate to relieve herself and there were no restrooms in sight.
The woman found herself stuck to the side of the car, and finally her date relieved himself aimed at her backside, thus freeing the lady from the metal! Has anyone ever seen a dog in this predicament? I needed a laugh and hope you enjoy it!

THANKSGIVING .....61 YEARS AGO
|

It was a beautiful day with clear blue skies in 1950. This would be the last Thanksgiving with all the family members present. My father was home, but had suffered an extremely massive heart attack the prior month. And Grandfather Ingraham at 81 would be leaving us just before Christmas that year.
The table was moved from the small dining room into the living room where it could be extended at both ends, easily seating 10 to 12 people. My mother's beloved lace table cloth was laid over the custom pads made especially for the dining table. Beautiful place settings of China from Barvaria were handled with care. The Camellia sterling silver flatware was in place along with crystal goblets for wine and water. It looked wonderful!
In our small kitchen, my mother, Grandmother Ingraham, and sisters Jacqie and Vivienne were busy with last minute preparations before everyone sat down at the table for the Thanksgiving feast. I was 16 and my only niece at that time was 5 years old.
My dad, grandfather and brother-in-law Harold were chatting as they awaited dinner. Normally, Dad played the piano during this time but he was still very weak.
At last the food started arriving. A huge turkey with plenty of stuffing. Dinner rolls fresh out of the oven. Mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes with marshmallows and dates, and black olives were set on the table. Fresh peas, small sweet pickles, celery sticks filled with cheese, and a big fruit salad was next. It was time to eat!
After a short prayer, we each were asked what we were most thankful for before the food was passed around. Compliments were lavish for those who fixed the dinner. There was much laughter as we ate and sipped the wine or water.
Several hours afterwards, when all the dishes and pots and pans were washed and put away, we were served pumpkin, mince or apple pie along with coffee. It was a lovely day, and finally my sisters and their families left for their own homes.
This marked the end of my childhood though I didn't really realize that until two weeks later when I found my grandfather slumped over in his living room. He was in his blue and white striped pajamas. A small amount of blood was on his head where it had hit the lamp as his heart stopped. Suddenly I was the one who had to take charge at home as Grandmother Ingraham was lost without the husband of over 52 years. Mom had been totally blind since 1939, and Dad was very frail for years.

HELP!!!!!! BLACK INK PROBLEM
|

This morning I reached for my address book, and somehow knocked over a flower pot containing multiple pens. The pot hit the tile floor, but didn't break! But when I picked it up, my hands were covered in black ink. I used a tissue to try and wipe it off, but even using Comet the ink remains on my hands.
I did manage to wash the black off the pot, but then I went to pick up the pens. One had been very full of ink, and its contents were splattered all over the floor under the computer stand.
Threw away the pen, and used many paper towels, but the floor is well stained in many places. The tiles are a light beige and cream color. How do I get rid of the black which is now liberally smeared over quite a few tiles?
Thank you for your helpful suggestions!

BANK OF AMERICA LISTENS!!!!

When I went to my Bank of America online account today, I was both surprised and delighted to learn that the bank will NOT charge any of us for using our debit cards!
The article claims that bank officials have listened carefully to their customers over the past two weeks, and have decided that they will abandon their stand on charging everyone a fee of $5. per month if they used their debit card anytime during the month.
This means I will not be changing banks! I wonder if many customers who have already closed their accounts will return to Bank of America?

HOTMAIL ACCOUNT BLOCKED
|

Most of my last blog disappeared so it made little sense if you read it. Is there ANY WAY to contact Windows Hot Mail via phone? I attempted to use a cell phone to get a verification code, but I have ZERO knowledge on how to get the message! It is an older model Samsung with AT&T, but never had the booklet explaining how to use the various features. I can receive and send regular calls, but that is about all.
Like DeborahSu2 said in her comments, that is exactly what was asked of me when the account was blocked. Since everything was on the computer, I didn't keep the phone numbers in my head.
This is the only account I use, and have had it 12 years. Many saved messages are from friends who are now deceased. There are also special family photos saved there.
Helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They ask a lot of questions such as names of people I recently sent mail to, but I don't know their addresses because they have been in my list for so long. I just hit a name, and the address appears instantly.
. I hear a DING on the phone, but no sound after that. Needless to say, this is annoying. Long ago I listed people in a notebook with everything spelled out, but I quit doing that years ago.
Any suggestions? Thank you.

HOW MANY OF YOU LISTENED TO THE MUSLIM SPEECH?
|

In my last blog, I posted about an older Muslim man born in India who gave a speech to a large audience in Canada. He is a cancer survivor in a wheelchair, and he warns people to quit being complacent and ignoring what is happening in their own communities in regard to the Muslim population.
He seems a kind and intelligent man who is truly worried about the future of our families and children. Of course all Muslims are not jihad terrorists, but more and more are emboldened by the lack of swift response by countries who are tolerant of their behavior.
I hope MANY of you will take the ten minutes to watch and listen to the video. You can access it by typing in......Tarek Fatah at ideacity 2011
After you take the time to view this speech and really hear what the man is saying, please give your response here. Thank you.

TODAY I LISTENED TO A SPEECH.........

There is a video available for all people to watch concerning the world-wide jihad. This speech was given in front of a very large Canadian audience by a wheelchair bound Muslim born in India.
He is an older man who earlier this year spent five months watching television as he was treated for cancer. He mentioned many events that had happened in the past, and gave very strong warning about our tolerance of Islam. He mentioned a woman killed in Canada, an "honor" killing where none of the women of Canada spoke out against this event.
No one is willing to insult or demean any of the Muslims because of fear or racism despite the Islamic belief that all western countries must be destroyed. He claims three of the Muslim brotherhood are now installed by the United State White House.
You can watch and listen to this man by typing in...Tarek Fatah at ideacity 2011
He is an interesting man. He tells how our civilization takes care of people including those handicapped like himself. He tells of how our countries allow for differences in people without prejudice. While life is important to many civilizations, there is little or no tolerance for some members of the Islamic people.
Watch the video, and please comment after listening to this which takes about 10 minutes. He claims the future of our children are at stake.

PHONE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES

Never in my long lifetime have I been so angry over the telephone as just now. After paying for T-Mobile service for a year without actually using the phone, service was cancelled.
I was promised a refund since the amount was automatically taken from my bank account each month. The 13th month payment of $38.29 was to be sent within two weeks. A month later, another woman representative told me the check would arrive in two weeks. It never happened.
Today I got a male who obviously came from another country. He kept telling me my social security number didn't MATCH their records. Despite numerous demands to talk to a supervisor, he remained stubbornly refusing to give me anyone else because my social security numbers didn't match! When a person uses the same number for many decades, they DO KNOW their correct numbers.
The angrier I got, the man still stated I had the wrong numbers! He would not allow me to talk to anyone else UNLESS I said the ones he had listed on the account. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. T-Mobile has some difficult employees.
