A VERY HAPPY REUNION!

Today I rode with 3 friends here in the apartment complex across town to visit one of our former neighbors. Phyllis had just celebrated her 95th birthday in a nursing home. She had fallen out of bed two months ago, and was not found for over 8 hours. Her hip was broken, and blood was on the rug.
She was conscious when found, but passed out before the medics could get her to the hospital where she awoke after being admitted. In the meantime, her family moved her things out of the apartment. The owners said they would not return any money because there was still a trace of blood on the rug!
This is the lady that used to work jig saw puzzles with me. She is about 4'10" and 97 pounds. She was always so happy and cheerful. Ron, a black man needing a heart transplant, especially liked this tiny lady. Twice he bought us lunches while we were working puzzles!
Today we told jokes and chatted about various people. There was much laughter and happiness in the room. She used to quickly move with her walker, and loved to play bingo with us. She had treated Shaq to a cookie once, and she became his life long friend with that gesture!
We stayed there nearly 3 hours. I cut up her meat when lunch was brought to her. She was semi-upright in her bed, but has some bed sores due to being unable to move much with the broken hip.
Finally we needed to leave and let her rest. Later, she called Carol, the friend who arranged our trip to see her, and said she cried when we left. I hope it will be possible to see her again, but she will be moving out of Las Vegas so this might be our last visit.
Phyllis will be moved to an assisted living place soon that has physical therapy. She can't wait to move there, and begin to walk again.

SO OUR PRESIDENT IS ACTUALLY NOT HALF BLACK?

I was reading an interesting article that claims he is 50% Caucasian, 43.75% Arab, and 6.25% African negro.
His father was from Kenya and 87.50% Arab and 12.50% African negro. Barack's father is listed as Arab on his birth certificate. And the President's name is an Arab name.
The article claimed for 31 years Barack was a Muslim, but changed to Christian because Michelle wanted him to run for public office. It would be interesting to learn the truth about this person. I saw and heard him on an older video claim he was not born in Hawaii, he was actually born in Kenya.
He also was very upset that the military expected our country to pay for their medical expenses for injuries they received in battle. He claimed that they volunteered for service so they should pay their own medical costs!
This man is not American, and even many black leaders have expressed this opinion of him. We will probably all be thrown under the bus if people allow him a second term.
It is sad that so many people listen to him speak, and believe what he is saying! He knows how to lie so well that millions of people still trust him. In the meantime, he and his family are running up astronomical bills for their trips and vacations.
While it is commendable for a father to coach his daughter's basketball team, it would be much better if he spent more time helping Americans find employment.
While this man attacks Mitt about jobs being sent overseas, how can he explain why the Chinese Government received the multi-billion contract for the Oakland-San Francisco bridge? That job would have put thousands of Americans to work in our own country.
I wonder how many blacks are better off financially today (with the exception of the government workers he and Michelle have hired for their personal use) than they were 3 years ago? Will they still support him knowing his interest in them is only for their vote? Now we understand why he bowed low to the Arab king since he aligns himself with his Arab ancestors.

STRAWBERRIES AND APPLE CIDER VINGEGAR

The tip sounded a bit strange, but I hate to buy strawberries and then have to discard some of them due to spores eating up the berries. The tip said to use 1/10 vinegar to 10 parts water, and soak the fruit in this mixture for a few minutes when you bring them home.
I took 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar and 2 1/2 cups of water and put them in a large bowl. Then I dumped the strawberries into the liquid and put away my groceries.
A small bath type towel was laid on my freezer, and then I took each berry out and laid it to dry on the towel. I dumped the vinegar water into the strawberry container and rinsed it thoroughly before drying it with another small towel. I then took each berry, pulled off the leaves only, dried them, and replaced them in the box.
Now this might sound like a lot of work, BUT I can now slice three huge berries into my cereal each day without any loss of the fruit or the taste! The vinegar kills any spores that might be on the strawberries, and they last at least 7 days this way!
I now look for boxes of deep red fruit, and know I won/t be throwing away a single berry!

While this month has brought me both highs and lows, my battle with my scales has been a huge disappointment. It seemed like there must be GLUE keeping my weight almost identical for three weeks! I was elated this morning to find the numbers had finally gone down a couple numbers! I am ALMOST out of the teens! Blouses that fit very tightly across my chest now hang loosely.

At 6:06am this morning, May 16, my great granddaughter Arilynn arrived in Georgia! She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and is 19 1/2 inches long.
Granddaughter Teralynn was in labor some 40 hours despite being induced on Monday. She had a pretty rough time since she is under 5' tall. The entire family is elated to welcome this little girl that includes parents, grandparents and great grandparents as well as uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as friends.
I will be seeing and holding this baby when they drive through Las Vegas en route to the Army base in Washington.

This photo gives you another glimpse of this beautiful park which belongs to the Arab country. The brilliance of the flowers and the designs make this a living piece of art!
I wonder how many people and how many hours it took to accomplish this gorgeous result?

I have seen royal palaces and automobiles made of pure silver and gold owned by the unbelievably wealthy Arab sheiks and families, but this is even more astonishing!
This United Arab Emirates park has made the Guiness World record book for hanging flower baskets in one of their parks. I was astonished because I did not think their climate would allow this kind of beauty!

The brilliant blue "stream" surrounded by the pristine white "banks" pop out with the green background. How I wish it were possible to see this in real life instead of just a beautiful photograph!
This was another picture from the plantings in Holland.

Holland is noted for their beautiful flowers, and untold billions of bulbs are shipped around the world each year. In the meantime, millions of bulbs are planted in parks for citizens and tourists alike to enjoy.
Here is just one example of the stunning beauty that has been created by human hands in that country.

When I saw this photo of two and a half year old great granddaughter McKenna, I was shocked! She looks more like a 4 year old. Of course, her mom is 5'8" and her great grandpa is 6'4 1/2" tall so I guess she could easily be 6' when grown.
I don't know who owns the dogs that are with her. Guess she is visiting at one of her Mom's friends' place.
While we are still awaiting the birth of my second great granddaughter Arilynn in Georgia, I will get to see her before McKenna. Granddaughter Teralynn will be driving through Las Vegas on her way to Washington where husband Steve is being transferred to this month.
Alaska in August should be great! I just heard from two of son Robert's best friends who still think about and miss him even after all these years...23 years have passed, almost as long as he was alive. There is a possibility that oldest daughter Melinda will go on the trip with me.
