TRUTH IN ADVERTISING LAWS May 6, 2012 5:28 pm

Unfortunately for us, there doesn't seem to be any "truth in advertising" laws in regards to politicians. The law does spell out what small businesses can and cannot do.

False advertising in regards to politicians seems to be the norm instead of the exception. IF the politician has been to law school, you can bet your life that he or she is a MAJOR LIAR whenever they open their mouths.

Long ago, I read a book THE TERRIBLE TRUTH ABOUT LAWYERS I think was the title. It was written by a graduate of the Yale law school by a man who practiced for awhile and then went into another field.

He stated in the book that lawyers were mainly interested in impressing other lawyers, and that the clients were often ignored except for the money they paid for representation.

It is sad that the present administration is so capable of "charming" audiences that they are blinded to what is REALLY happening in our country. The "Trespass Law" just signed by the president makes it impossible for you to criticize him at any place he is at unless you want to be arrested on felony charges with a minimum 1 year jail sentence. Congress PASSED this law overwhelmingly!

No matter what he says and does, the general public and the news media basically believes him to be wonderful. I cannot believe that a U.S. Marine with 9 years of service just got discharged because he was critical in Facebook about the leader. The man received a dishonorable discharge! Freedom of speech is not allowed if it is critical of the president.

How many college graduates will be able to find work this year after graduation? How many parents will kill themselves and their children because they can't find work, keep their homes, and feed their families? I often see this type of story in our newspapers. In the past, this was mostly unheard of because we could find work.

A FOULED UP DAY May 5, 2012 4:44 pm

The last three months I have lost 7 pounds a month, but today my weight was the same for seven days in a row. Irritated, I decided to indulge myself with some foods I have been avoiding.

I put half a cup of Grape Nuts into a small bowl, covered them with milk, and then put in the microwave for one minute. Taking the hot cereal to the table, I decided to add one teaspoon of Nutella to the dish. Mixing it well, I suddenly had a chocolate tasting bowl of food to start the day.

Later, I added a teaspoon of Nutella to graham crackers and pecan sandies. They tasted good! Monday I will stock up on fresh vegetables and fruits. I had gone to Walmart on Wednesday to get my rent money order. Thinking I would return in two days to stock up on fresh foods, I realized too late that I had a 4+ day wait! Our bus only picks us up on Mondays and Wednesdays for shopping.

I have received this photo several times now, and I have no clue whether it is a real photo or one that some clever photographer made up using a computer program.

Let me know what your opinion is whether this is real or not?

HOSPICE CARE.....HOW MUCH TIME IS LEFT? May 1, 2012 3:41 pm
340 Views
I called my wonderful friend in Alaska to thank her for the package I received yesterday. Her oldest son answered, saying she had been taken for bathing, and would not be available for at least an hour.

Since he lives in Southern California, I was really surprised he was at his mother's home. He told me she was now in hospice care so time was limited. The chemo treatment had not done anything to slow down the lung cancer which had only been discovered last September.

When does hospice care usually begin? Is it in the last months or weeks usually? It is hard to believe this very special lady has lost over 35 pounds this year sine she was always on the slender side.

A FAMILIES WORST NIGHTMARE Apr 29, 2012 3:50 pm

Little Jeremiah was one year old Friday, April 27, 2012. It was a wonderful day for the baby and his family including his grandmother.
The boy had opened his presents, and finally was ready to sleep about 10 pm in his Henderson, Nevada home.

After receiving a bottle, the child crawled over to the family dog.
The 120 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback-Mastiff cross male named Onion had been in the family for 6 years since puppyhood. The dog had never growled or shown any aggression towards anyone. He would lick the baby's face and sleep next to him.

As the boy attempted to stand up using the dog's body for leverage, the grandmother reached down to pick up the baby. The dog suddenly
grabbed the child's head in his jaws and violently shook him. The grandmother was unable to pry the baby from the dog. Hearing the commotion, the father ran downstairs to rescue his son.

The attack lasted less than a minute, but broke the baby's neck and caused other terrible injuries. Paramedics rushed the boy to the nearest hospital, and then he was flown to a trauma center where he died.

The devastated father had this advice for pet owners, "always be careful" even if you trust your dog. "I trusted my dog and now I don't have a baby or a dog."

The animal is in quarantine for 10 days, and then will be euthanized. Authorities want to check to see if the animal might be rabid. After the attack, the animal acted like nothing had happened.

When 15 year old Martin Shank went to a park in Staunton, Virginia with his camera, he got some amazing photos. An extremely rare albino hummingbird was checking out and tasting nectar from some flowers.

I don't know how to put more than one photo in a blog so I will have to put them in two sections.

90 YEAR OLD SISTER'S HIP REPLACEMENT SUCCESSFUL!!!!! Apr 22, 2012 10:26 pm

My oldest sister, Jacqie, had been in terrible pain with her hip, and had dropped to a mere 99 pounds before the surgery last Friday.
Determined to overcome the odds, she was adamant about having the procedure despite the risks.

Everything went smoothly, and now she is in rehab for a couple weeks before being able to return home to her new apartment. Fifty years ago such a surgery for someone her age would be inconceivable!

YESTERDAY WAS DOUBLY SAD FOR ME Apr 20, 2012 8:02 pm

My son Christopher would have been 55 years old yesterday, and the wonderful female Rottweiler named Danci died yesterday at the age of 11 and 1/2 years.

I only hope that Danci has met with Chris, and that the two of them are well and happy in perfect health. It would be especially great if my Rottie Kane is with Danci, too.

Though Danci destroyed more things as a puppy than probably 50 other puppies, she was always so loving with people and animals.
She always took the newborn calves under her protection, and lay quietly while baby kittens or chicks slept on her warm body. The rabbit who lived in the barnyard was always her friend.

Weighing a nice 100 pounds, she was impressive so no one EXCEPT the mother bear ever tried anything disrespectful when she was around.
Danci probably never understood why the bear didn't want her to play with the cubs.

Chris was an animal lover and loved people too. He was always helpful to family, friends, and even strangers. His only son is now 14, and never knew how truly special Chris was before the Multiple Sclerosis took his life away.

April 19 is also remembered by many people for the terrible events that happened on that date in Texas and Oklahoma.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS BEING ELIMINATED Apr 20, 2012 8:17 am

Did you know a new law has been signed by the president that allows the Secret Service the power to arrest you if you protest or say anything they don't like? This will be a FELONY arrest with a one year or more jail sentence. You CANNOT complain or protest anything if the president is nearby.

The law allows the president to select secret service "protection" to anyone he wishes. I believe they are currently protecting the opposition candidate for office? If this is true, speaking against the present occupant could put them in jail!

This law was passed in March of 2012. It is HR 347. Congress is said to overwhelmingly passed the measure.
