I did try.....but I still did not get this right???? I can't seem to get doing a collage figured out yet??? My photo program has the capability.....I just can't figure it out yet.
This nursery is Canandales in St Thomas. I buy most of my garden plants here, with many trips each year. I love checking out all their new stuff ever year.
When I get the collage figured out, I will post the rest of the great photos I took.

My flowers as seen through (framed by) my gazebo.
I took this about 2 yrs ago, My backyard wasn't as much a dog racetrack then, and before a bunch more of my cedar trees died. Unfortunately it doesn't look like that now. The canopy before it got wrecked this year too (another Foto Friday picture).
But then I have only started working on this year's gardens.

Blue Forget-Me-Nots, for GentleBen/Mike from Ontario

Blue Forget-Me-Nots, that we will not forget our friend Mike for all his kindness, guidance and encouragement to his friends on SFF. His sharing of his knowledge and experience in photography.
Blue Forget-Me-Nots, for Mike's Foto Friday.....for his challenges to us to look at photography in different and inventive ways through the camera lens....to move out of our comfort zone and try new things, view subjects from different perspectives.
Blue Forget-Me-Nots, for Sandy to hopefully carry on Mike's legacy with Foto Friday, in the spirit that Mike intended.

Many of my photos will focus around "before" and "after" renovation projects.
This is a "before" photo. This room is my bedroom now (I had it as a guest room when I first moved into my house), I just love this room. It does not look all that bad in the photo (photo strategically taken). Prior to the selling of the house to me, the white walls were painted a deep mustard yellow. All the trim was either the navy blue or mustard yellow. 2 walls were mustard yellow and 2 walls were navy blue. One wall (in the photo) has white paint sponged on, only as high as the person could reach. The bedroom door has panels in it, so they painted the panels mustard yellow too, and the rest of the door navy blue. The thin white coat of paint hides the mustard yellow colour under it in the photo, but not when you were standing in the room.
The room must have looked gastly, in the mustard and navy colours, which is why they slapped some whie paint over all the mustard colour, to help sell the house.
I have most of the room repainted now, in a soft sage/gray green with ivory white for the door and all the trim. When I have it finished, I will post a few "after" photos with this original "before" photo. I have a stained glass window in this room too. The bedroom should look very restful and inviting when it is all finished. That is "the plan" anyway......
And I still haven't shown you a photo of the "nightmare bedroom".....

Letter "W"............is for WRECKED
This is what happened 4 days ago. There were extremely high winds on Monday, and they just shredded my canvas canopy for my backyard gazebo. I have had the gazebo and canopy for about 8 yrs now, and each year the canopy has gotten a little more fragile and brittle. Well now it is toast!!!
Can I get a replacement canvas canopy??? I don't know yet, but I will certainly be searching for one.

Spotted Donkeys

I have a girlfriend from work, who is very directionally challenged. She does not get north, south, east and west if her life depended on it. She relies on landmarks, to find her way back to places.
As an example, she had a boyfriend from the US she had met online. He came to visit her for the first time, just after Christmas. Her driving directions to him got him lost 2 blocks east of her house. He went back to the grocery store which was her landmark for him, and phoned her. She then got him lost a block and a half west, from her house.
She knows where she lives, but can she describe that to someone else to find??? Not a chance. We live just over 2 blocks from each other, and yup she could get someone lost leaving her house and coming to mine (because the 2 blocks are not in a straight line).
Because of her health issues, I am her chauffeur for whatever she needs, or where ever she needs to go, 90% of the time. About twice a month, she needs to get something from a specific store out on country back roads. Does she know where it is? No. Can she describe how to get there by her landmarks. Yes.
So we drive up this highway, turn left at a certain gas station, turn right at the green metal roof, at the intersection where 2 parallel roads form a V we take the paved parrallel road instead of the gravel parrallel road. Then we turn right at the spotted donkeys and take the paved road to the intersection where 5 roads all meet, and we go to the store in the middle of the 3 stores there.
Those were her driving instructions to me. Does that make perfect sense??? It actually does when you drive it with her. Without her, heaven only knows where I would have turned up???
The spotted donkeys was the strangest landmark though. A donkey looks like a donkey, right??? It is like a donkey sounds like a donkey, a donkey does not quack like a duck!!! A donkey is just that, a donkey.
Now mind you, I have seen donkey offspring bred with a zebra, and those have some stripes on them. But spotted donkeys????
But here they are. We turn right at this intersection, with the spotted donkeys.

Mind you, they have a few normal donkeys too.....and no I don't know if any of these donkeys quack!!!!

Foto Friday - V is for Victorian

V is for Victorian architecture.....
I absolutely LOVE Victorian everything......architecture, funiture, colours, drapery styles, garden furniture, stained glass, staircases..........and the list goes on and on......
I WISH this house was mine.....but no it isn't. My Victorian is not far off this house in age....but my house is a 'plain jane Victorian', where this house is a magnificent Queen Ann Victorian style Victorian, and an amazingly large home. It is one of the largest homes in St Thomas. I love gazing at this home, as often as I can. Don't you agree it is an amazing house????

This is a BEFORE photo. I do not have an AFTER photo yet.
When I purchased my 1878 Victorian house, I bought it knowing I had a lot of renovations to do. This bathroom is just one of many renovation projects.
The tub is an original clawfoot tub. You can't see it too well, but there are holes cut out of the floor around the pipes. Why?? Because SOMEWHERE below the tub on the drain line, it leaks. Fixing that however is further down my list of priority's right now (new wood fencing for my side yards, is my priority for this year).
Don't you just love that depressing navy blue colour on the walls?? NOT!!! The colour I have started painting it, is a soft brown/rose colour with ivory lace curtains. It got halted a while ago, and is waiting for me to finish it. When I do finish it, I will post before and after photos.
And you haven't even seen my 'nightmare room project', yet...
