This time of year, a long awaited spring planting season here in Wisconsin, I guess I'd say my favorite places to shop are motivated by wanting to enhance my small back yard with colorful vegetation. The picture says it all. ( Very shortly, my likes for shopping will be replaced with the farmer's markets. )

Though we here in the state of Wisconsin are in the throes of the most costly political process of all time, I have steered clear of the mention of it for fear of being throttled.
With all the untold MILLIONS mustered by Republican Gov. Scott Walker from his out-of-state, corporate benefactors who obviously have a stake in his re-election - you know, Walker, the incumbent who is up for recall, just in case you've been asleep at the wheel and haven't been conscious, like it makes no never-mind to YOU - my prediction is he will buy this election and all protests, all pie-in-the-sky beliefs that elections are FAIR, all demands for clarification of his dirty deals as Milwaukee County Executive (even as all those in his circle have fallen like a house of cards) will all be a laughing matter, and once again, we'll be duped and sold down the drain.
I think it's a foregone conclusion. All the hoop-la-la is a sham, a cover for the would-be honesty in the political process. I'm sure he already has his acceptance prepared by his speech writers .... the same ones writing his phony "good guy, warm and fuzzy, coming-to-join-you-in-your-living-room" ads telling us of all he's achieved. (They make me wanna puke.)
I, for one, fear the further damage this man can do to this state. I wonder .......... am I the only one who can smell a fart in a gas chamber?

We visited our favorite haunt to celebrate her coming retirement as of June 1. We ordered Chardonnay .... right at the bar. HEY! It was a toasting of a special event!
In walks three gents, one of whom sat right next to me. They were talking about 'signs'. Oddly enough, I had just spoken to a couple of sign producers I gathered from the phone book for jobs estimates earlier in the day. (Something we need for condo purposes on the 30th of the month.)
I interrupted their conversation, asking, "You guys are in the sign production business?"
"Nah," said one. "We're Republicans distributing 'We stand with Walker' signs in the area." (Governor Walker's recall election is going be held on June 5th.)
"Oh?," I inquired, "Are you from town?"
"Nope," came the reply, "We're only here today and tomorrow. Lots of the signs distributed earlier have disappeared. We're replenishing."
"Hey," I piped up, "I can help you out with that if you want to drop a load on me."
My gf added, "I can take some, too!"
Between the two of us, we're scheduled to receive about 20 signs tomorrow to 'help the cause' .............
Little did they know ............... we're both LIBERALS!!! Tee hee. (evil grin)
Think they'll actually show up?

Let's talk about LABOR RELATIONS:
The North Dakota Department of Labor claimed a small Bismarck dairy farmer was not paying proper wages to his help and sent an agent out to investigate him. Department of Labor employee: "I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them."
Farmer: "Well, there's my farm hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $200 a week plus free room and board. Then there's the mentally challenged worker. He works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night so he can cope with life. He also sleeps with my wife occasionally."
Department of Labor employee: "That's the guy I want to talk to... the mentally challenged one."
Farmer: "That would be me."

.... presented on the Oprah Winfrey Network as she was speaking with a psychologist.
He stated: DENIAL is an acronym for Don't Even Notice I Am Lying.
I hadn't heard this one before. I liked it. I think it really tells it like it is.

Foto Friday - Framing

I really, really tried hard this week to do the do with the framing theme because I thought it was such a neat idea. I even thought I had the perfect scenario and had the narrative in my head in rough form.
Well, HA, do you think I could capture that white screen door with that huge plop of white bird chit on my squeaky clean window without huge white flashes in the photo? NOPE! They were disastrous. I so wanted to share with you how that dirty bird sat on that wire and just waited, watched and waited so deliberately, until I had that window glistening for the first time in months! I had stepped back, espied my efforts, and said, "This is good. Time to rest."
I wasn't back in the house five minutes when I turned to look out that glistening window .... well, you get the picture .... without the picture.
So folks, instead of that nice clean window framing a diarrhea flush of bird doo-doo, I offer up a view from the INSIDE of my kitchen. But, wouldn't you know? I still got flashes in the photo:

Have you read your 'personality type' on your profile page??

I'm a so-assigned Innovator. Amazingly, lots in the description of my 'type' rings true for me, IMHO. Knowing' me .... what say you?
QUOTE:
About Your Personality Type
You are the inventor, the risk taker, and the developer of new ideas and schemes that can either plummet you into bankruptcy or catapult you to riches and glory. Dozens of ideas ricochet in your head at any given moment, and you can talk circles around anyone you know. You are the epitome of creativity. ENTP when in love
Falling in love may take a while for you because of your selective nature: You are the type of person who may pass by several “quality candidates” until you feel you have found the ideal mate. As a result, you may be single for far longer than your friends and family expected you to be. Even when you find the right person, you still want to maintain your sense of uniqueness and personal space. As a result, you need a partner who will leave you alone when you desire it - a partner who has his or her own sense of self-confidence and autonomy and doesn’t need to be around you twenty-four/seven.
ENTP where to meet
Where can you meet an Innovator? Innovators are the most eclectic of the Knowledge Seekers; their spontaneous and inquisitive nature takes them almost everywhere. They are especially delighted by social events that trigger their imaginative and logical minds. Look for Innovators anywhere their powerful intellect can be stimulated and where they can exercise their considerable communication skills

Personally ... I have decided THIS ............

When I have determined there is less good than evil on this site, I will move on. I have not yet found more evil than good to be true. I find more good peeps here than bad ... and I cherish those few.
I grow tired of people threatening to leave, hoping only that others will BEG them to ramain ................. like who is really going to notice if we remain or stay?
Life (site) moves on!! Who really gives a rat's azz? Peeps need to get over themselves! Life (site) will go on, with or without them ... maybe even more merrily without them.

A very recent diagnosis ...............

NO, not life-threatening but most egregious, and I find there are countless others afflicted with the same annoying and persistent malady.
Months ago now, I developed a dry, scratchy patch on my scalp that drew my hand to my head to pick at by impulse. I couldn't leave it alone! Eventually, it became an obsessive/compulsive response and I'd scrape flakes. In time, I also noted small itchy patches on my lower legs and also on my arms and elbows.
I first searched on line for crusty scalp. I'd never had anything like this before in my life .... up to age 72! All indications were that it was psoriasis and it was spreading to other parts of my bod. MY GOOD LORD! At THIS late stage of life??
A visit to my doc and a referral to a dermatologist confirmed it. Yep, it's psoriasis.
I have two friends that are also afflicted, but much more badly than myself at this stage. A gf told me that in one month's time she has spent upwards of a thousand dollars on prescription drugs attempting to find relief. No relief! It persists!! The first prescription written for ME was over three hundred dollars for a very small tube of cream. HOLY BUCKETS! And of NO help.
Back on line .............. It's noted there is no known cure, but I found natural concoctions that treat the symptoms and relieve the itching. NO MORE OF THOSE EXPENSIVE drugS THAT DO NOT WORK and will drive me to the poor house, because my insurance will not pay for the, "Let's try this crap routine" promoted by drug companies, even as medical research declares NO KNOWN CURE!
Per suggestion, I found relief of itching in applying Witch Hazel, but it dried my skin. I tried diluted bleach, but it did the same. I tried swabbing apple cider vinegar on my legs and elbows with the same result, though I continue to use a vinegar rinse after shampooing my hair to supposedly balance the PH.
Greater relief of both the itching and the drying of the skin came with an equal mix of glycerin and non-alcoholic Witch Hazel.
I suspect that some of you readers may also be so afflicted. The glycerin and Witch Hazel is just a suggestion for you. I can only confirm it's working for me better than anything I've tried in the realm of natural 'medicine' OR prescribed drugs.
If you've got a better solution, please let me know.
