It is no secret I have many friends both in the real world and online friends many of whom I have visited and spent time with I rarely stay in peoples houses being an independent kind of person in fact of all the trips I have stayed in only 4 houses the houses I have stayed in I have felt totally at home and made to feel like I am one of the family. this trip was one of the 4 On this trip time just never permitted me to visit and spend time with all so I had to miss some The ones I did miss I spent time with on the last trip and will do so again on the next trip…God willing and if the government doesn’t break me in the meantime.
My friends may not be your choice nor your friends my choice but because I am secure and satisfied in my own life I have the confidence to make my own decisions and I never was one to follow the crowd my sense of judgement has never let me down I can honestly say of everyone I have spent time with I am looking forward to doing so again
I had a mission this last trip and that was to see the Autumn (FAL colours This ambition was the reason I first visited the states And did I ever From NE I visited Maine NH Vermont……and saw the ravages of Irene it was amazing how quickly they wee getting roads and bridges re built I saw and visited many interesting places but I saw colours and the best was yet to come. My next move was to NC and what a treat was in store these good folks had planned a trip right through WV and it was just awesome for days I could not get JOHN DENVER…TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY HOME OUT OF MY MIND We visited Greenbriers and oh my what a surprise was in store there the sort of thing you see in movies for a $ million or so you an even have a share in it but it was the bunker what a brilliant piece of engineering that was Anyone in that area I would encourage to go see for yourself a completely self contained city that was built under the mountain they built it and then put the mountain back and built a hotel wing on top and it was kept secret for many years I did a lot of bear spotting while I was being driven through the Alleghenies and the blue ridge mountains the best I got was a paw print Of course they were not satisfied with just that They filled another of my ambitions and took me the State Fair and what fun that was and I have some mementos I bought home to remind me Still there was another surprise Quantico where I was to learn a bit about home we met some Aussie marines I never knew we even had marines they were happy to meet another Aussie and one asked me my impression of the people of America………..my reply was I have been here 6 times in my travels I believe it to be the friendliest country in the world and I love the people he said say no more I have been here 3 weeks I formed the same opinion. They were in Quantico for training they had been in LA and were moving on to DC the American marines had been in Aussie training them they are based just an hour from me and I didn’t know they existed I have a big interest of the American history so a visit to Manassas was another highlight it was raining the only day it rained on my time there but it somehow matched the mood of the place I have been to Fort Sumter in Charleston on the last trip so this meant I had been to the first sea battle and the first land battle sites
BUT wait there is more as we travelled on to Georgia for yet another reunion with old friends

I received this in my mail this morning I thought it was a simple way of of telling politicians what you really think.....no violence no threats no nastiness BUT if enough do it they will get the message We are tired of taxes to finance their wastage of our money
July 29, 2011 IN A NUTSHELL: A golden opportunity for YOU (and all of us) to give Julia Gillard the single loudest "GO AWAY" message EVER. It'll cost you 60 cents max. and will be $600 dollars in value. ____________________________________________ Dear Fellow Concerned Australians, As you know, the Gillard socialists in Canberra are going to WASTE $4,000,000.00 ( FOUR MILLION DOLLARS) sending all of us a "sales brochure" pitching a Carbon Tax at us that nobody wants. This represents a brilliant, takes-no-time-at-all opportunity for us to stand united as one and send her the most powerful message possible. Just send the brochure back to her! If it was posted to you (with the Canberra address on it), then just write "Return to Sender" and drop it in the post box. If it is a 'letter-box' drop (like the shopping brochures) with no stamp on it, then put it in an envelope, stick on a stamp and mail it to: Greg Combet, M.P. House of Representatives Parliament House Canberra ACT 2600 (G'wan - write the address on an envelope right now, so it's all ready to go when you receive their lying brochure) Please do this. If we all do this - and you know we darn sure will - there is a strong possibility that it will be the final straw and the idiots in Canberra will.... (a) back off on this Carbon Tax and (b) sack Julia Gillard. I wish I could claim credit for this brilliant idea, but the kudos must go to John Izzard, who wrote the article, "Return to Sender" at We ALL have gotta do this! It's just too good an opportunity to speak with one voice... ...for Australia's sake

I have been absent from this site for quite a time no particular reason I just found other interests and it was time to take a break I poke in occasionally and take a look at the blogs I feel I must say something about America Having travelled extensively in America at last count 26 states some more than once I have also travelled extensively in Europe and Canada I have to say that Americans are the friendliest and most helpful people in the world. Maybe this is the reason I keep returning I recently attended the bash in Seattle and Chattanooga and I have called into St Pete briefly I was hesitant about the bash I had attended one in Aussie and will just say I wont be attending any more in Aussie The Bash In Seattle was great the friendship I was shown and the time and effort to make it a success and make me so welcome has nothing but admiration as far as I am concerned I met some old friends and I made some new ones The bash in Chattanooga was the same everyone just having a good time enjoying friendship I have driven quite a lot of miles in the States and always there was someone willing to help and put me on the right path people even went out of their way to help Of course I must say it is because of the friends I have made here a lot of this was possible although I have ventured a lot of places solo I must say something about America Globally as I travelled in Europe all I heard was THANK GOD FOR AMERICA people would say if you knew how bad it was living under communism you would say the same I know when we have had tragedies in this country always America and Canada would be here to help I must say I say Thank god for America or I would be peaking Japanese To say that Americans don’t now what happens anywhere else I find that when I talk to Aussies they know very little about America either except for Disneyland and Hollywood and judge it by TV their knowledge of Canada is the Rockies I think all countries are the same we are all insular they say travel broadens the mind I can assure you this is very correct in the days we live in now of TV and internet it is so easy to judge from afar If you think America doesn’t have any effect on the world cast your mind back to 9/11 it changed the whole world As for the problems in the states at the moment it is simple …….If you spend too much a day of reckoning will come and something has to give The UK Greece Italy Spain Portugal and Ireland are just some examples If you live beyond your means One day you will pay this is no different in governments or in private lives When I see the wastage in my country I know the day of reckoning is getting close and we will be the same as all these other countries Some people are envious of my lifestyle they have no need to be I worked saved and scrimped for 40 years to be able to have this lifestyle I never had all the luxuries that people take for granted these days in fact I was 48 before I even owned a car and I never lived in fancy houses these days some would be condemned No body gave me money I earned it all myself I am so pleased I lived like I did and now can have the rewards It is no different to Governments they have overspent and got countries into hock now the price must be paid

TWO American fugitives who have been living in North Queensland on fake passports for almost 30 years were arrested in Charters Towers at the weekend.
Patton Erwin Eidson, 66, and Sonja Steiner Eidson, 72, pictured, are facing almost 40 fraud-related charges for allegedly using fake passports to travel in and out of the country for the past 27 years.
The couple had allegedly been living in Julatten, between Cairns and Port Douglas, under assumed identities.
While the reason the pair left the US to begin with was not mentioned in court yesterday, they are wanted for arrest in that country for "various serious offences".
The Eidsons were caught in Charters Towers about 2pm on Sunday while on a bus from Mount Isa to Townsville.
Charters Towers officers, with assistance from the Australian Federal Police, boarded the Greyhound bus the couple were travelling on and identified them using supplied photographs.
The Eidsons then allegedly admitted who they were, with Mr Eidson telling the officers he had been travelling under the assumed name Michael McGoldrick.
Police prosecutor Helen Armitage, who was acting on behalf of the Commonwealth, said federal officers did not object to the Eidsons being granted bail.
But given they had ``successfully avoided apprehension for over 25 years'', strict bail conditions were sought, including cancellation of the pair's passports.
However, duty lawyer Ron Hinds submitted the magistrates had no power to cancel their passports, but agreed passports should be forfeited to federal police.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN GUILTY OF LOOKING AT OTHERS YOUR OWN AGE AND THINKING, SURELY I CAN'T LOOK THAT OLD? WELL...YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE! MY NAME IS ALICE SMITH AND I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST. NOTICED HIS DENTAL DIPLOMA, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME. SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY SECONDARY SCHOOL CLASS SOME 30-ODD YEARS AGO. COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY BACK THEN? UPON SEEING HIM HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT. THIS BALDING, GRAY HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS FAR TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE. AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED MORGAN PARK SECONDARY SCHOOL .... YES, YES I DID. I'M A MORGANNER! HE BEAMED WITH PRIDE.
'WHEN DID YOU LEAVE TO GO TO COLLEGE?' I ASKED HE ANSWERED, IN 1965. WHY DO YOU ASK? 'YOU WERE IN MY CLASS!' I EXCLAIMED. HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY. THEN THAT UGLY, OLD, BALD, WRINKLED, FAT ARSED, GREY HAIRED, DECREPIT, BASTARD ASKED.... 'WHAT SUBJECT DID YOU TEACH

It is the second longest rapid transit system in total track mileage in the United States, after the New York City Subway, and is the third busiest rail mass transit system in the United States, after New York City and Washington, DC's Metrorail.[3] Chicago's 'L' is one of four heavy-rail systems in the United State In a year it carries 195.2 million passengers Although L nicknamed because a lot of it is elevated also goes underground and at ground level On my recent ride Ms educator….we did all three A lot of the platforms are above ground where this photo was taken from
