Mirror Image 8/15/2005
You are not truly the person you see in the mirror
that image is not the real you
For the mirror can not reflect the hope in your heart
or the depth of feelings in your eyes
Nor the spirit that may get kicked down but never quits
neither the fire of your passions nor the love you have to
give
it cant even reflect the dreams tucked in your mind
The mirror can only see the surface, ...

Echo 8/14/2005
somehow this is not where i'd Planned to be
at this the autumn stage of my life
i had pictured things quite differently
a little more pleasure, a little less strife

There are many lessons that life has taught
i have learned the feeling of being lonely while not being
alone
Though it's not the situation i would have sought
it's like living in a house that's no longer ...

let me take your face into my hands
and i shall kiss away your tears

The Call 8/13/2005
In the evening while passing, by soft silence surrounded,
at the timewhen the shifting shadows darken,
on the wind a mournful song sounded,
and did i pause to harken.

at first i wasnt sure that what i heard was true,
the distant voice of a lady fair
singing, lonesome, blue
carried to me on the evening air.

Childhood 8/7/2005
Remember!
Little girls and boys playing with imaginary toys.
Waking up all warm and safe with their innocence stored
in faith.
When, Moms and Dads they held us tight.
They taught us love and not to fight.
Where the worlds a sandbox warm and gritty.

Untouched and pure, kind and true.

SO SAD 7/22/2005
Near to the door he passed to stand
As he took the glass ring off her hand
All who were watching did not speak
As a silent tear ran down his cheek
And through his mind the memories ran
Of moments they walked ran, hand in hand
But now her eyes were so terrible cold
For he would never have her to hold
They watched in silence as he bent near
And whispered the words..I love you

There’s but one thing I need before I float into the blue:

And think of how life use to be,
it doesn't seemed to have changed to me.
First I remember, there were the 'Ted's',
Mods, rockers and then skinheads.
Each with it's own violence of sorts,
each causing trouble at seaside resorts.
Africa, Asia even the New World,
Insults, agony even bullets were hurled.

Ending?? I think not... 7/1/2005
I wanted a perfect ending.
Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't
rhyme, and some stories, life people, don't have a
clear beginning, middle, and end.
Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the
moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's
going to happen next.

I'm Free 6/26/2005
This is a poem I wrote for my oldest sister, lost her to cancer:.....
I'm free,
Don't grieve for me, for now, I'm free.
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at close of day.
If my ...

How many thoughts a day do I have? How many memories? In this
shell I occupy how many lives have I lived? To some I am one
thing, to others something else.
Once a day one memory always comes back. It doesn't
have to be any time or place. But it returns maybe for just
a millisecond. But I relive it all, time after time.

When I look into a mirror do I see me?
Or do I see someone I wish to be?
God, so I'm told can see into my soul,
but does he see me playing my role?
We all of us play out life's charade,
some just hide behind a facade.
My life (for what it was) was turned,
I felt the sting of being spurned.
But, I laugh and joke and live again,
only I the real me knows the pain.

I wrote some words tonight. I wrote them as they came. They
came out out my head. Unbidden and uncalled for.
My fingers cannot move to the speed of my thoughts. My thoughts
move beyond the speed of light.
Words once said can never be taken back. But words that are
written should be written with care. A chance remark is
sometimes forgotten. But in black and white?
Pen versus sword? A ...

Tie them up, sit them in a chair?

Roll them up, put them in a great pot?
Turn up the heat 'til it's nice and hot?
Or do you like danger....?

Here we are on another tour, rounding the bend,
and up the hill over the bridge into Badgers End.
There's the steeple all covered in moss,
gossamar, like candy floss.
It's buried twice daily by the incoming tide,
but the people don't care, they just run and hide.
