Testing for the Driver's License - Only in West Virginia - 11/29/2010 My older boy and step- were very eager to get their driver's license but my younger procrastinated. So recently I've been driving to West Virginia so that he could practice driving and test for his license. Last week he took the test. I had to laugh when I realized how stressed out he was about testing. He is a better driver than his two brothers and they both passed the ... 7 response(s), 5 votes |

Our and Too Much Information???? - 11/29/2010 I remember when I was young woman, my folks expected my sister and I to be Virgins until we married. LOL! Considering the fact that we BOTH had BEFORE we were married, that didn't happen. My older boy was in the Navy and currently goes to Georgia Tech. There are things he does that I really don't want to know. I know my younger one has a major ... 3 response(s), 3 votes |

In South America in those days it was a privilege to have a as a nun or a as a priest, they were looked upon with special respect and admiration. There were several reason these why ... 7 response(s), 4 votes |

Whom to believe? - 11/29/2010 From 'skippy'. An apt? nickname cause he tends to skip over, errr block any comments that puts him in bad light as opposed to responding to the data presented. Quoting I've Never had it so Good "Makes one wonder what the psuedo economic geniuses will have to say now that Buffet has clearly stated that "trickle down/voodoo economics does not work." Not a "psuedo economic genius". ... 11 response(s), 7 votes |

Government Intrusion - 11/22/2010 San Francisco's board of supervisors in their infinite wisdom banned McDonald's Happy Meals with toys as they are now being served. The sandwich, fries, and soft drink can still be purchased. But in order to get the toy the meal must not contain more than 600 calories and include fruits and vegetables and include beverages without excessive fat or sugar. GOING BACK 25 - 11/18/2010 At times the jungle would be so dense that you could hardly see the people in front of you, at other times it would sudden open up, considering this was just the entrance to the Amazon, I can understand how people would get lost and never come out. We past a small river with some huts more naked and canoes that were used to fishing, there was sort of a trading post where a Dutchmen had ... 2 response(s), 4 votes |

GOING BACK 24 - 11/17/2010 We rode for several hours, finely we reached the campsite, this was very exciting, I remember the great time I had with my father in the Galapagos, and thought that I had all knowledge to direct the other but this was a total different camping, the fact that my bottom hurt so bad that I could hardly walk, and it seemed that everybody knew what to do but me, so wisely I kept my mouth shut and ... 5 response(s), 5 votes |

I could do with out this one - 11/12/2010 I guess the town I call home finally made the big time. Although I really think we could have done without it. Our local high school is closed today, not for a holiday, but for a bomb threat. So far no bomb has been found, and the school is scheduled to reopen tomorrow. The YMCA is attached to the high school so its closed also. I wonder what kind of sick mind would perpetrate such a crazy thing ... 4 response(s), 5 votes |

waxing nostalgia. - 11/12/2010 Watching the news tonight and saw that there are 30 stores along Edmonton's White Avenue that have put up mechanical Christmas displays much like the big department stores had in their big windows about 60 years ago. They look just the way I remembered them. I remember standing out in the cold and snow and thinking how magical they were, and how much I loved Christmas. Do you remember ... 3 response(s), 5 votes |

Free Birth Control - 11/10/2010 As much as I despise Government intrusion into our life's, I must admit this sounds like one of the better ideas to come out of a politician's head. That being to supply birth control pills at a low cost or even free to those who need them. Although abstinence and personal responsibility for ones actions is still the best and only sure fire method of birth control. I realize that this is just ... 7 response(s), 7 votes |

I wish these borrowed toys would get a clue. - 11/9/2010 This morning the Mutt and I were running down the road. We do stop if there is something interesting along the way. We were heading back to the house when the Married Man stopped me. "Do you ever ... 3 response(s), 7 votes |

GOING BACK 22 - 11/6/2010 About five miles down the road there was a bridge and a warehouse, it was sort of the ‘commissary’ where there were products for the families were they could buy the most necessary things, it all depended on the weather if the merchandise could reach the place before spoiling. At that time there was not any refrigeration, so most of the things were in cans. This store was run by and old ... 4 response(s), 6 votes |

GOING BACK 21 - 11/6/2010 Next day we proceeded to Yuncan, that was another six hours, I was still car sick. The road is treasures, every inch has been blown out of the mountain, and there are only certain places where you can stop. Finely we arrived, can’t say that I really cared by this point, I was weak from being sick and needed to lay down. My father was waiting for us at the bottom of some stairs that had been ... 1 response(s), 6 votes |

Do you think true photos will get responses? - 10/31/2010 Men on another site, had photos far younger than their actual age. I don't see any harm in using a glamourised photo if one wishes, as its the first attraction, and that does count whatever anyone says. I hesitate on responding to those without photos...responding to those with photos are bad enough sometimes...but if you really want to meet someone, and I do...its best to be game and put ... 1 response(s), 5 votes |

Thanks to Miteehigh (from my blog) - 10/24/2010 I would thank miteehigh for his blog titled the perfect storm. He took the time to answer my question. I asked just how much the "rich" would have to pay in federal taxes to make him happy. He cited the tax rates used during Ikes term in office. I will round that to the nearest zero. How do you pick a hobby? - 10/23/2010 That is the question. Is a hobby supposed to be relaxing? How do you know it is right for you? Is it something you can do any time you want 24-7-365? Mrsdinty suggested I take up a hobby for retirement. I saw a person making wine bottle stoppers, fobbs, bowls, etc, on a lathe. Mmmmm said I, that looks like a fun hobby.
