Hi, I love sports. On Sundays in the fall youll always find me in front of a television watching the Bears game. Its my one indulgence. If you want to watch the game with me, thats awesome. But if you do and you want to have a discussion about anything other than the game, where my next beverage is coming from or do I need more salsa for my chips, you will get kicked out of the house. Yes, I feel strongly about it. There are other things I enjoy like fine art, theatre, modern dance, hiking, canoeing and ice skating. Especially skating during the evening when the sky is clear and you can find yourself under a tree looking up at the stars. The night sky in the winter is always so crisp and bright. It always brings back memories of being a kid sitting on the shed with my feet propped up on the wooden fence in our back yard alongside my brother and sister late in the evenings watching our dad make the ice rink in our back yard, just as he did every year. When the ice was ready wed skate to our hearts content, at least until spring came along and the ice melted, giving way to other activities. And there were quite a few that I enjoyed and still do. I just like doing stuff. And occasionally that means just sitting around with someone else and enjoying being dopey. Sometimes its necessary to be active and sometimes just to be lazy. Balance is good.
Over the last several years the bulk of my time has been spent on work, keeping the house running, hanging with family and friends, and raising my son whos in high school and starting to become independent. This, by the way, means theres a lot more free time for me. And I plan on making the best of it. Anyway, have fun. Who knows, maybe Ill contact you or maybe youll contact me and well have a great conversation. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
