I am a new kid on the block since I am a year removed from the passing of my spouse of 48 years which also makes it 48 years since I was in the dating game, and yes, I am somewhat apprehensive about entering this game again but, as you are well aware, its lonely without a companion to share activities together, especially the affection you give and the affection you receive. I am looking for a woman between the ages of 65 and 75 living within about 50 miles of Lancaster, Tx that is willing to get acquainted and perhaps start a casual fellowship to explore compatibility and share in each other's activities together, enjoy each other's company, and just try having some fun together and see where it goes from there. I am not aware of any special talents that I have or anything really special to offer, just me, but that includes being a gentleman who would treat you like the lady you are, honest, faithful, compassionate, affectionate, energetic, healthy and loves the outdoors and being active. I am 6'0, 170 pounds, sandy hair with receding hairline that is tying its best to turn some other color. I lost my abs a few years ago--right--and replaced them with a small pouch, marsupial, don't think so. I do enjoy sports, walking, travel, movies, picnics, dining and dancing although dancing is not one of my strong suits. I enjoy holding hands, love to snuggle up to watch TV, especially movies on TV. A brief summary background about me. I was born in a fairly small town (Liberty) in northwestern South Carolina. I graduated from Liberty high school and shortly thereafter joined the US Navy and served for four years aboard a ship, mostly in the Far East, during the Korean War and returned to Liberty after an honorable discharge. I worked in an office with a carpet manufacturing company for about two years and then entered college at Furman University in Greenville, SC. I graduated with a BA degree, got married and started a career with the Federal government. I worked with several different agencies from Atlanta, Ga, the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and ended up in Dallas, Tx where I retired in 1989. I then began a fantastic, whirlwind journey around the world until it got boring, especially when all the islands in the Caribbean started to look and feel the same and not much fun any longer---just kidding about the travel. The truth is I got bored and went back to work and retired again in 1998. However, when I win the lottery I will need a traveling partner to take that fantastic worldwide tour again. I currently live in Lancaster, Tx, a city about 12 miles south of Dallas. Weather permitting, I try to play golf twice a week with other senior friends, do a lot of reading, attend a few movies, and do a little traveling, especially to California to visit my son and his family. I really enjoy sightseeing trips by car and have a few planned in my mind for the future. You could describe my basic personality as being on the conservative side, and until you get to know me, rather the quiet type, but I am a participant, and given the proper stimuli, I do have a sense of humor. I am sometimes a tease and do "pull a leg". I enjoy having fun and it feels good to make someone laugh and to laugh with them. I generally love most all music but especially big band music, and piano melodies such as, Somewhere My Love, and Somewhere in Time, etc. It seems to me that a basic problem with this senior dating game is that we all tend to believe that we are younger and still handsome, or very attractive, with slim athletic bodies and great personalities. It feels good to believe that way, but, with some exceptions, it just ain't so. However, that doesn't mean us seniors can't have fun anymore. We can and we do. Happy Hunting to you too. P.S. The photo of me was taken November 2008.
My Ideal Person:
My ideal person is someone I would be unashamably proud to be their partner because she is affectionate, caring, trustworthy and honest. She loves you after the loving and shares her life with your life.
