Looking For:
Men for friendship or a serious relationship
|

It seems like many people find someone they like on this website so maybe it will work for me too. I still work as a teacher and have many female friends-mostly work friends-so there's always someone available who wants to do what I like....which is a very wide variety of activities. However, there are no men in my life and this seems like a good way to meet a good one.. Who knows? It just might work for us. Here are a couple quick things I've written
just to give you some information about me. In addition to riding a bike quite a bit, I can ride a horse, drive a buggy, and drive a golf cart. I haven't ridden or driven a buggy for about 15 years but do golf more frequently than that. I began to cook when I was 22. Newly married, I bought a new cookbook each month from a different country. I don't cook nearly as much as I used to but can still cook although the timing is a little off. I've taken cooking lessons at Central Market in TX, in Koh Samui Thailand and Cordon Bleu in Paris. Next week I'm taking a German cooking class. I like most all food including a rib eye steak when my cholesterol allows. I live close enough to enjoy the nice things Dallas has to offer but far enough away from the city hassle and where I can enjoy some wildlife. I saw five coyotes not long ago and regularly watch a pair of hawks that nest nearby. A bobcat prowls the neighborhood at night and a rat snake crawled up on the patio after the rain...it was probably washed out of his home and looking for higher ground. I have seven dwarf fruit trees, three citrus trees, an herb garden that keeps the rabbits well fed and as many flowers as I can grow in a zero lot line garden. I lived in Japan for three years and never bought a car...rode my bike to work each day. And, for fun, I've biked along the Mosel, Adige, Saar, Orolo, Elbe, RHine and Saone, Neckar and Arkansas rivers. Maybe there's been enough rain in TX lately to fill some rivers there. Politically, I'm socially liberal and fiscally conservative. I think they used to call us Rockefeller Republicans but I don't think that term works in this world we live in now. I'm outspoken (and like straight talk) but not mean-spirited. I have the patience required for 20 first graders but can get really exasperated at one selfish, mean or manipulative adult. I love music and am listening to Diane Krall. But I like it all. I've sat in a near-empty concert hall thinking George Jones might eventually show up and I've sat in the Verona amphitheater under the stars at a performance of Madame Butterfly. Some of my best friends have been dogs. My last two lived to 19 and 20 because they had been my running companions in their young lives...and mine. I don't have one now but soon will. I colored my hair every week when I was in my twenties but when it began to turn gray at 30 I let it go and you can see the result in the picture...totally white. Am always on the lookout for good junk/antiques and so on and so on...... I hope this gives a good feel for the person I am.
My Ideal Person:
The information in my profile here gives a good idea of how I like to spend my time and I'd like to find men friends with similar interests but, having said that, maybe it's true that 'opposites attract'? So, I don't really have an ideal person in mind. I think, through the writing back and forth, a personality emerges that gives a pretty good idea of who we are. Rather than holding you up to a predetermined standard, how about looking for a 'good fit' and going forward from there.
