I am a very active person.(Working five days a week, and Motorcycling most weekends.)
Activities I enjoy are reading, motorcycle touring, and traveling.
When I go out on dates, I tend to enjoy dining, conversation, live music and movies.
I have four grandchildren, who I visit occasionally at the coast.
Some of my favorite activities and places to go are museums, particularly of science, natural history, aircraft or motorcycles. ('bet you didn't see that coming!)
One of the more interesting things I've done in my life is a Copenhagen-Edinburgh-Inverness-Glasgow-Belfast-Dublin-Cork-Portland-Dover shipboard cruise. (No motorcycles - damn!)
Where I live is very important. (I love the southern Appalachian mountains)
When I'm at home, I enjoy listening to language tapes or classical music. (I'm working on Russian ["Par-r-r-oo-ski" as in "Ya ne-penny-my-you Par-r-r-oo-ski." "I don't understand Russian!"]
In film I'm fond of (...don't tell anyone...) romantic comedies like "House Sitter", "Pretty Woman", "While You Were Sleeping", "Only You", etc.
On TV I enjoy SciFi and the How To shows, like "Modern Marvels", "Extreme Makeovers" (Kids! Don't try this at home!") and of course "American Chopper" ("VRoomm VRooommmm")
My philosophy on life is... "Do unto others as you would have done unto you." AND "Bug not thy neighbor!" That oxymoron: a Libertarian, Yellow & Blue Dog Democrat.
My Ideal Person:
I'm looking for someone who likes a beer now and again, likes cats (I have one) wants to take in a few movies and take rides on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I like going out on dates, but my real reason for being on the site is to establish a friendship relationship, and I'm looking for someone with a similar goal.
When it comes to physical health, I exercise occasionally (and should more often) and expect my potential mates to be at about the same fitness level. (Yeah, I hate the old "take two steps up the hill, drag Martha... take two step up, drag Martha... take two steps...")
I like my date to be an adventurous & modern person with personal qualities such as... a sense of humor, (You'll need it) hearing BAD enough that "Wake the Dead" snoring doesn't bother her, and a rump that can take a bunch of miles on the seat of a ZX-9R cruise missile... (That would be a description of my bike, not any personal endowments of course.)
